Okay, to clarify--the point of this post is to choose five musical artists whose success you cannot understand. It has nothing to do with liking or not liking them. For instance, I don't like Madonna--but I get why she's big (jn my opinion, she panders to the right sort of audience so it makes sense) I get why Phil Collin's Genesis is big--catchy, arena pap--but I loathe it. But Dave Matthews? I HAVE NO CLUE WHO COULD LISTEN TO THIS CRAP
So here are my Five Musical Artists Whose Success Escapes Me
1. Dave Matthews 2. John Mayer 3. Coldplay 4. Steve Winwood (solo) 5. Sheryl Crow

What I didn't get was Lenny Kravitz in Being Mick. Why was ha acting so nelly? Well, actually I don;t get Kravitz at all anyway. Don't see how Coldplay can be so huge, and think of themselves as even huger.
Coldplay Radiohead - post OK Computer Kings Of Leon - very highly regarded here in the UK, but they look like X-Factor contestants these days. Pink Floyd - enjoy the Barret-Era psychedelic material and some of the later notable work, but much of the praise lavished on them is lost on me. David Bowie - Oh how I try and try.

Aerosmith - just a bunch of posers who have added nothing to rock history, but made fortunes. Life's unfair. Neil Young - even though he's a nice bloke - and I've bought most of his albums, but still don't like him. Bon Jovi - same as Aerosmith. Scorpions - pompous, silly and cartoon-like. I prefere the Simpsons and South Park! Celine Dion - Pompous even more pompous. If she has a voice somewhere behind all those grand arrangements - she ought to use it on real music.
U2 - Sorry Lenny Kravitz - Although it seems that he tries to put everything in a song to make it sound good but I don't get it. ACDC - Must be the age and I don't like yelling
