That was painful viewing.

I thought he and the guitarist were going to make out in the first clip and the lip synching was pathetic!

The whole thing around it is ridiculous, the guy is ridiculous.. the performances.. but I think the song is not bad. The guy is old.. but the music sounds 'young' and not in a pathetic way. At least he isn't duck-walking his way into rock and roll history like a complete fool.

You know, we can joke about these clips, but at least the guy isn't putting his name on jerky.

Hey, a guy has a right to make a living. And who DOESN'T love jerky.

.....Hey, I think I've got an idea for Chuck's next big song !

Here's where things take a twist. (See what I just did there?)

The first two videos are from July/October 2008, respectively. No telling when the second was recorded, but CBS probably added the first relatively close to the original broadcast date.

But the third is from a November 2007 performance, which got me curious.

It turns out, "Knock Down The Walls" was released on February 20, 2007. This raises the proverbial question, "When is a new single not a new single?"

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the best part of this video. At roughly 2:05, Chubby pulls the guitarist forward into the spotlight. The only problem? The guitarist isn't actually playing the solo.

Cirrohsis..you're a freakin genius! LOL. Great detective work there...would never have found out the whole timeline on this. Even sadder!

Thanks to your link....look at this very rad and cool cover for the single!

New lyrics for his jerky biz--song to the tune of let's twist again

"Come on let's chew again like we did last summer
Yea, let's chew again like we did last year
Do you remember when things were really wacky?
Smoked flavor, ginger soy, even terriyaki!

Yeah round 'n around 'n up 'n down we go again
eat more jerky and I promise to be your best friend
Come on let's chew again like we did last summer
Yea, let's chew again, chewing time is here!"

Holy moly! Excellent! I wonder if people really "enjoyed his call"

hahaha these phone messages are incredible!

Who doesn't want Chubby to call you to leave a message to congratulate you on numerous occasions such as a new job, graduating, giving birth...

I love the baby one: "You'll enjoy your baby for years to come." HA! Just "enjoy" eh? So much for mother's eternal love. oh and the lose weight one is slick: "I just heard that you just lost weight." Nice, Chubby. Real slick.

I think it's "Limbo Rock"!

Either way, Chubby shouldn't rely on putting his new single on phone messages...he should get on the road and perform it! People must hear it live!

I got curious after reading the posts and watching the videos. While the song didn't chart in Billboards top 100, it actually reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart in 2008. Chubby seems a litter bitter, and the last video he looks like he ate a few dozens donuts too many. I will give him credit for trying though.

Oh my Lord that is life-changing bad. I never bother my wife with my Stones board stuff but I had to show her this. This is unbelievable.

Well, for a truly live performance in a TV studio it's reasonably tight. The background singers are only intermittently in key, but that's partly a function of the difficulty of singing in a TV studio where the monitors and the 'closeness' effect of the mix can wreak havoc on vocals, no matter how good or bad a singer is.

The lead guitar player is pulling the strings on the chords at times, so sometimes he sounds a little out of tune (but same qualifier re the mix and the venue).

The song itself? Depends on whether you like semi-passionate soft rock. I think Chubby felt he had a special 'message' tune that could go far. It's not that bad IMO, but this is a forum for folks who, like me, would rather hear songs like 'Midnight Rambler,' so in this thread Chubby was faced with impossible odds from the start.
