Ronnie Wood

Ronnie Wood has been visiting Europe this summer, to promote his paintings, as well as the new release of the "Slide on Live" album. In Hamburg, Germany, it all happened on July 24, at 11 pm. The following is as told by German IORR member Rolf-Ulrich Nedebock.

Ron Wood was entering the stage for the Buddy Holly Theatre. Many press people were present. Ronnie presented the actor, Robin Brosch, a self signed guitar. The guitar is to be sold later this year for a good price, to collect money for AIDS research. Ronnie then talked about his new album "Slide on Live". It’s out in August with two new tracks: "I Don’t Know What You’ve Got" and "You Really Got A Hold On Me". The album booklet is showing a nice self portrait of Ronnie!

The video screen is showing great moments with Ronnie, as well as the Rolling Stones. Then the press is brought on to the art exhibition. My big moment is to present a bottle of liquer from the "front Row" Fan Club of Germany. Ronnie is nice, and we talk for some minutes, while the press is taking photos. Then the press ask their questions, and later on Ronnie tells me news about the Stones.

Before they leave, Ronnie’s management is telling that he and his wife Jo are going to a small club in the area of St. Pauli, known for sex, drugs and rock & roll! Sure we go there later on, and then we meet Ronnie once more, with a glass of whiskey in his hand! Then we do a sightseing with Ronnie down the street "Grosse Freiheit", and we get autographs. Thanks to Ronnie and his management!
