Status of the new album

What do we know so far:

- private listening party in L.A. yesterday
- Virgin listening party on the 29th in London
- Mick spotted in L.A.
- Keith confirmed in L.A.
- release date: either middle/end August or September
- possibly special edition with a DVD
- song titles: "Look What The Cat Drug In" (for real?? or just a working title?) + forgot the other one
- contemporary but yet hard hitting - typical Stones (whatever this means)
- horrible lyrics so far - hope that isn't an indicator for the rest

What we (I) don't know, but what would be very interesting...

I would love to hear some more song titles, I'd love to see the artwork (wonder if it's good for once), I want to know how much Don Was was involved and how many studio musicians were involved... And I would love the hear some sound bits of the new album...In short - I want more info - no rumours!
I know, I know - in times were internet didn't exist we knew less. But still yearning for some more news!

I don't know how the flow of information was with Babylon or Voodoo - did we already know more then?

I think we know about the same. Someone posted a while back that the boys were looking for a lame dog for some artwork, but who knows how reliable that info is. Truth be told we know very little about the album. While I continue to look every day for news regarding the tour/album, I know ultimately we'll just have to wait it out. So to compensate, I'm off to listen to some Licks boots.

Well in the early days we heard about 3 months before the introduction of a album/cd. And we hear the same things as we hear now. I agree we living in a time where the internet is rolling,(hmm funny) that we want more, but it`s like good wine, if you wait a little bit, it will only get better when you can taste it. winking smiley Let`s hope we have the same thing with the new cd/dvd.

i think that lame dog story was just a rehash from the making of the Wicked As It Seems video.
and wasn't the other possible track title Dirty Ruckus?
besides ONNYA, of course. :E

"What do you want - what?!"

Oh No Not You Again may not even be on the album yet ...Probably will but who knows The Stones may have just tossed it in as a live bonus-teaser.

In the early days they were probably just starting to RECORD the album 3 months before it came out.

These days its normal for the listening parties and media hype to start about 6 weeks beforehand. The date of that listening party (if its genuine) would tie in with an August release, not for mid-September

Makes no sense that in late june the songs are ready enough for Virgin executives and press people to listen to and for the japanese to buy in mid august, yet NOT for the American audiences who they're trying to buy their concert tickets until mid september

Agreed melillo. IMO "Blinded by Love" and "Hold back" are also up there in that top five.

Didn't the Stones pioneer the Bstage?

With the little moving stage they used in Miami in 94 yes.
The 1st B stage used on a whole tour was for U2 I guess. They also work with Mark Fisher.
