Thank you Congratulations.......what a mistake!!! (must be age) one of my favourites from the 60s. Yes you are right 19th Nervous Breakdown was played at all the shows and was a soundboard recording included in GLIYWI. Thanks for correcting me.

Sorry JR .... but you are not quite right in your post. Fortune Teller and I've Been Loving You Too Long are the only studio recordings which had audience screaming added. Time Is On My Side and I'm Alright are live recordings from UK March 1965. All the other tracks are soundboard live recordings from the Autumn 1966 UK tour. You can identify the genuine 1966 tracks by list

Shows from the UK 1966 Autumn tour were recorded to create the album Got Live If You Want It. The recorded shows were Newcastle 1st Oct 1966 both 1st and 2nd shows / Bristol 7th Oct 1966 both 1st and 2nd shows plus it is likely that some audio recordings were made on 23rd Sept 1966 at the opening London show at RAH before it descended into total chaos. The tour set list (which did not chang

RIP - One Man and His Dog If we have to have RIP posts about footballers and Popes, I agree with the suggestion they should be grouped in their own section. This is not a general news site. This site is for Stones related posts. Or at least limit them to music related people ? This is one for BV obviously but the number of OT RIPs seems to be growing and I’m not aware of any connec

Thank you Spud ! I thought I might have got it wrong but yes they did indeed put the record into the sleeve when it was bought. I listened to the complete Beggars Banquet LP in the listening booth on the day of release in my lunch break and was then late back to work. At the end of the day I rushed home on my Lambretta and played it again all evening. It was a revelation after all the waiting w

I live in the UK. All through the 1960s I bought each Stones album at the time of release (all UK versions) from my local record shop and none of them were ever "factory sealed". The LPs were in racks so that you could look through them and read the covers but when you bought one it came from fresh stock held behind the counter on racks and was mint condition. It was then put in a p

But no Beatles or Stones ?????? (unless I missed the listings). And putting The Troggs "Wild Thing" on Disc 6 : Having a Party, with the other tracks on there is just odd.....IMHO

Great photos....thanks for the link. Anyone notice Brians Vox Teardrop guitar in photo 10, on stage in Copenhagen ? It seems to have no solid back panel.....more like a banjo back. Has anyone more info on why the guitar is like that ????? I have never seen any other photos of Brian's guitars like that, they have all had solid backs? Thanks in advance for any info.

The Last Time is indeed a great, catchy, radio friendly song.......made a hit imo due to Brian’s riff throughout. However, it can be well argued that it is not an entirely self penned Jagger/Richards song. It is in fact a clever interpretation or rewrite of an existing song.....which is what they did with ALL their hits up to that time. The first genuine self penned hit was Satisfaction. IMO.

Keith has obviously forgotten about "Tell Me" and "Little By Little" which totally contradict what he said in the interview.

For me the anthem of 1966 with Substitute, Paint It Black, Wild Thing, Paperback Writer etc. I remember that summer.......everything before us. Sunshine, girls, freedom, youth, Lambretas, Radio London, Radio City (5x5), Radio Caroline..... and The Stones pumping it out through the sixties.

Lucky to see him in May this year in Shrewsbury UK after two postponed concerts due to Covid. He still delivered. A unique guitar style. A charismatic stage presence. RIP Wilko........those DR. Feelgood tracks are often played.

So.........you will not ship outside EU. Not to Stones home town. It’s obviously your choice, of course, but you’ve lost at least one buyer immediately.

I’m sorry I don’t have the album to upload, but I noticed track 7 is titled “Aftermath”. Is this a well known track mistitled or a rare out take ?

NME 1968 was not offically filmed or recorded because the Stones were not scheduled to appear......it was a last minute, surprise appearance. What is interesting is the development of the amps used in 1968 compared with their previous appearance in 1966. The audience filmed silent colour clip of 1968 is the only film to have surfaced so far.

A couple of other points ; Oldham was out during the making of Satanic in 1967. They didnt need him any more and also alledgedly he went abroad to avoid the legal troubles of the drug busts. With all that going on and Brians decline they were perhaps not thinking of reconfiguring the band. Also in a professional band despite how we look at them, they are all going to work every day just li

LeonidP.........I meant I was there in 1966, but not where GLIYWI was recorded. I went to the 1st show in Birmingham, England in October 1966. Ike & Tina Turner Revue, and The Yardbirds (with both Jimmy Page & Jeff Beck in the band). My mother took a day off work and went into Birmingham by train and queued at the Odeon Theatre box office for the tickets. It was all seated in a theatr

That's a very good idea Ironbelly. Do you have a contact number ?? I was of course originally thinking of someone perhaps from this web site. The people who removed the copyright protection bleeps did a very very good job and might be interested in this as a project. To hear a "clean" 1966 live Stones' concert would be great, particularly because I was there. Alte

When the copyright protections were issued they had a “bleep” added, which when removed revealed some fantastic sounding tracks. Is it possible to remove the audience screaming on the GLIYWI. LP, leaving only the performance (yes I know some tracks are studio outtakes)? If someone was able to achieve this and post it that would be great.

I may well be wrong (it was a long time ago !!) but I dont think the Coventry shows in 1971 were recorded. I hope they were, but at both shows and queuing around the side of the theatre I don't remember seeing the Mobile there. Coventry Theatre also had very little space outside, only one side alley giving access to the stage door. Although you could get a lorry down that side to unloa
