I just don't get this enthusiasm for the Dick and Steve line up, and I speak as someone who recreated the lengthy intro to Sweet Jane to the dismay of our college folk club! I think the live performances by the Tots are so much better - more compact and closer to the way the songs were written (except for their version of Sister Ray, which is pants) But clearly I am in a minority here so

QuoteCaptainAcid Quotejohnnythunders But what about Lou & The Tots ? A very underrated era in my opinion. Only thinking about soundboards I am aware of one official and one unofficial release, both recorded in New York 1972 There is also live at Kings Cross which is of great historical importance but poor sound... I have remastered 1972-12-26.Hempstead, will share soon. I am open for

Quotepaulywaul Quotejohnnythunders The RAH box office told it was an even split between themselves and Ticketmaster / See Tickets. This would imply the RAH had 50% of the tickets and the other two had 50% between them. Worth bearing in mind if the Stones do play the RAH.. I'm in .... first proper gig since Eric's tribute to Ginger in the Hammersmith Apollo in February 2020 ! See

The guy who found the master tapes in the dustbins outside Olympic went home to get a wheelbarrow. In the interim a second passer-by recovered the master tapes for Electric Ladyland which she sold to Hendrix's estate for £128k!

Many of you will know that Olympic Studios in Barnes, London has now been turned into a high-end cinema and a very nice cafe But did you know it now has its own record shop ? On the other side of Church Road it is small but well stocked and specialises in records recorded at Olympic. Ask Roger nicely and he will show you some of their master tapes - I saw Neil Diamond and Eric Clapton. M

QuoteRank Stranger Thank you; sounds much better than what I have on an old CDR. Flamin' Groovies played great despite a somewhat hostile German crowd! A little bit of nitpicking: There's still a short disturbing "plop" at the end of Tell the Truth ( 4:32" ), but that can be erased with Audacity. Here it is: Thank you

My friend Jon Storey has remastered the Groovies set from the above - its a radio broadcast so sound is reasonable. Shake Some Action is the only original but the covers are well chosen and played. He has also included scans of the poster, ticket and backstage pass! Get it here
