Quoteriffhard72 This sounds like something which could have come frm the Revenge-era KISS (circa '91) My thoughts exactly. RB

Steel Wheels was the first album to be released after I became a fan (I had borrowed an old "Love you Live" from my neighbours aunt), so as for everybodys "first", this is a favorite, flawed or not. I still listens to some of the tracks on a weekly basis! Great memories of that time. One sticks out: I remember thinking Steel Wheels was the most ragged record I had ever heard.

Oh no. RIP. Respect. PS! Sorry I shook your hand a little too violently in that club. I forgot for some reason you had your arm in a fixed position. Please pardon an awestruck fan.

Well - got a pickup order on my postoffice for my books today and also a bill from Jokers in a separate letter. A german bank bill (WTF??)! The shipping was 30 euro to Norway but I´ve already paid the shipping they claimed they needed at ordering so a little confused now. But a mail to Jokers probably will resolve the issue. RB

Thanks! Just ordered it Honestman, after step 3 the site took me to my banks verification tool since my card was a Visa card. After confirming the purchase with my electronic bankchip ( we always do that in Norway when purchasing things online) I was taken back to step 4 which was "send your order", so I guess you perhaps was not able to actually order it in step 4? Quoteaudun-eg Congrats with a killer amp! Thats quite a tone you got there on that "Final Dance" tune, Audun. Nice! What guitar/amp/pedal combo did you use? Kind of Keith soundy, with a little less hair. RB

QuoteUrbanSteelThe difference between the fantastic Nicky Hopkins and Billy Preston is that you can "feel" Nicky is there and Billy is almost everywhere . Yep. Bulls eye. I´m all for change now and then, but that change was not for the better. IMHO Preston did some great things throughout his career, but he did not find his sweet spot on the 75 tour.

QuoteEdith Grove I would expect participation to diminish after the Stones stop performing. Oh, please don´t say that...I feel a small but very potent depression coming on when reflecting on that fact. Its as inevitable as ones parents going to die, but that´s just too painful to think about. On another note, I think there will always be new fans discovering RS so that grants the forums exi

Thanks for a lovely arrangement yesterday at the HRC! Great hearing Blondie, and seeing him so happy, fun watching the nervous drummer. Unfortunately, the quiz started well before the announced time, so when we arrived, it was already in the final round. Oh no! Anyways, thanks again RB

In not Swedish, but to my knowledge "återtraff" in this context means "will meet again", I guess if a band had split up it could mean "reunion", but its more like they will team up again in Stockholm and have booked suites on three floors with a/the roofterrace. RB

QuoteBig Al One thing I like about the footage I have seen is the way they all stand together and play. Problem is, if they play it again, they'll have to move Blondie out with them and somehow push Chucks keyboard to the front of the stage as well: could be problematic and look too cluttered. I don´t see how that's problematic at all Big Al. How about putting all of them, Blondie and

On the much circulated torrent "The Rolling Stone Magazines 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time" the version of Brown Sugar is one with Mick shouting "Yo!" and "Ahh-grrrrrrrrrrrrr" in the opening bars. It has some extra instrumentation and so on, but the bedtracks seems to be the same, or recorded at the same time as the original. But which of the seven versions (see abov

"I think I remember reading that while making Let it Bleed that the sound/production of MM was criticized by someone for being too slick and pop. Am I dreaming?" Not at all. I found the story (in "the Rolling Stones and the Making of Let It Bleed" (Vinyl Frontier) by Sean Egan) very amusing. Apparently the technician held grudges about it for ages. Recommended reading. QuoteMathijs Concerning the Wide Range humbucker: (...)They used to go for $200 to $300, but maybe the current credit crunch is easing up these prices. (...) The second most important ingredient for 'that' '81 Keith sounds: the WRH MUST be connected to an 1 meg volume pot and a 250K tone pot. The 1 meg pot emphesizes the midrange and reble of the WRH.
