No Rolling Stones for awhile; I have a bad taste in my mouth over this whole thing and the way its being handled, e.g. carrying on with a pointless senseless tour after the one member they supposedly agreed without whom they would never continue. Instead greed is rearing its little head seems like to me. Next they will be selling funeral shrouds on the official site. jb

I think I mentioned this a while ago but a one time girlfriend of mine had lived in Indianapolis and was the concierge for the hotel the Stones were staying at. This might have been 1978 or 1981, not sure of the specifics. Anyway she was at the desk and Charlie emerged from the elevator and came over to her and asked if she knew of any antique shops in the area. She said, yeah, in fact the street

If he lived in Texas that would be another story. Conn and NY have very strict gun laws I think you are confused. First of all, what is his felony conviction that prevents him from owning a gun? Second of all, if s

Back to the Beatles, who could seemingly do no wrong (up until MMT anyway), what the hell ever possessed them to release that stupid You Know My Name thing? Talk about cringe worthy. Someone did have the nerve to stop them from releasing Mary Jane Had A Pain At the Party, or whatever that mess was called, until its release on something or other later on, but that one was really really bad too.

What makes you think Keith has guns illegally? Has he been convicted of a felony that precludes gun ownership? Seems to me he is the ideal candidate to get a concealed carry permit. I do not know but I would think it really foolish for a man of his stature and notoriety to go around carrying unregistered or illegal firearms. PS: If I were to actually shoot something other than targets or cans

As far as numbers go, there were definitely more than 5k pressed, I remember the 3D cover was being sold well into the 70s. I forget when exactly it was switched over to the 2D version, but it was interesting to see it for the first time where you could really pick out details like the Beatles in the flowers. jb

I find most all of Paul's post breakup stuff pretty cringeworthy, several notable exceptions aside. All that Venus and Mars stuff, eh, sounds like grade schooler stuff. L

The truth is, unless it is made so absolutely hot to own a gun, like for instance the penalty being summary execution on the spot, they are always going to be in circulation. Heroin, for instance, has been outlawed for quite some time, and yet, incredibly... Whats that old saying, if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. Anyway, well, its a deep subject. jb

I do give credit for the Eagles using "reggae" as their basis for Hotel California. Lyrics are pretty clever and funny too, the first million times you hear them. As a class, I would like to add anything Steve Miller touc

Love Sugaree, love Paperback Writer, but for that one probably had to be there. It was meant to be funny, but the heavy riddims really made the song. The (New) Breed from Sacramento had a similar song they copied from this concept, Want Ad Reader I believe it was called. That one was dumb but no one ever heard of The Breed anyway. Sugaree, I think is funny as hell, everyone knows a girl they coul

They were famous more as followers than leaders. Though eventually their plastic nature was overcome by ambition to actually be a real musical group, something they never truly achieved. Nesmith had talent and an ear for music, more than I can say for the rest of them. But late in their career as the Monkees they did put out some interesting stuff, probably more interesting in retrospect than at

Oh, so many. And as usual Rockman leads the pack. One thing you learn pretty quick: most of these "composers" cannot write decent lyrics to save their lives. Chuck Berry does not have that excuse for My Ding A Ling, though. jb
