Quote oldkr its the best because the stones finally fulfilled their personas before they becae caricatures, the music is kick ass too - in 69 the music was limp and they didnt know who they were. Yes they did, listen to the beginning of Ya Yas....they were THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND IN THE WORLD. The 1st Hampton, VA (18 Dec>) show, was sloppy...not even a good example of that tour

Mick's original vocal definitely came from there, and all the geetar work...all that was added was the sax..with much remixing...but, take it from a cat that has it all..the song IS basically FROM Muscle Shoals, Alabama.... JR

No, they sold the rights to KBFH, hence never had access to overdub it. I have the original reel to reel tapes from 74, both broadcasts, September and November, NO overdubs there. JR

Quotesaltoftheearth And while I'm in a talkative mood tonight: I still have the oldest available version of GOATS HEAD SOUP, an album which I appreciate very much but which sounds really muddy in that version. Are the newer remastered versions significantly better? Which is the best available version? Check your stylus....It sounds perfect on vinyl... JR

the best version is the original LP, IMHO. None of those cds is really "remastered" other than transferring to digital. YECHHHHH.. JR

QuoteCome On Yes, a fan here..he is one of them artists thats getting better and better...he has a growing voice...and I love 'Guitar Town' too... Awesome song, along with Someday, one of the great, "early" Earle songs. I love the line, "Gotta keep rockin' while I still can... got two pack habit an a motel tan" perfect... JR

Please note on the detail photo of the early London sleeves, that EACH ONE IS DIFFERENT. 1st one has 1st LP top left, second one had Decembers Children top left and last one has Aftermath Top left, so you can roughly date them by that. Original 1st LPs came in plain white sleeves, sometimes with the center hole cut out, sometimes not. UK London FFRR pressings came in the poly lined London
