I can't see it happening. the grateful dead only came to Europe twice as far as I know. Bob Wier is the only member of the dead to have come over since Jerry Garcia died. I could see a promoter putting them on in a big venue over here, especially given that John Mayer headlines arenas over here on his own.

My guess is that Santana and Steve Winwood will join him for the encore. Most of his gigs in the last 15 years that I've seen have had the support artist join him. It happened when he last payed hyde park in '08 (Sheryl Crow, John Mayer and Robert Randolph joined for crossroads). Seems more likely with Carlos and Stevie given their histories togeather.

I think he would only put the festival on next year to host Slade. Who else could it be?

Interestingly he did add Gary Moore's still got the blues back in 2011 just after Gary Moore passed away. Can't remember if he made comment to his passing other than playing the song.

Radio 2 have a live gig in Hyde park usually the first weekend of September. I'm wondering if he is lined up for that. It is shown on Iplayer soon after. Rod Stewart did a great set for them two years ago, ELO and Elton John have also played the show in the last couple of years. Tom Petty fits the demographic of the previous audiences and it would be great publicity for him in the UK as he d

I was really saddened when I read the news. I saw Mick and Bad Comoany last Saturday and his playing was superb. He played more lead then when I last saw him with Bad co. I've met him quite a few times over the last ten years as we don't live that far from each other, this included a very strange conversation outside a guitar shop when he quizzed me about my then new guitar. I hope h

I was massively annoyed that I missed this show. I had to do a night shift for the ambulance service. I went to the show last year which was great less Ginger's leaving the stage which makes more sense when you read his comments and notes that Malcolm Bruce And Pete Brown weren't part of last years thing. I hope those who attended will spoil us with the details but Ginger back on stage

I've never really understood why the guys in Aerosmith seem to give Steven Tyler a hard time. In the time it's taken for him to do one solo album Joe Perry has done two, toured twice solo and now even Brad Whitfield is touring and has a new album out. I appreciate that Tyler is a bit of a prat but I think he is more committed to Aerosmith than some of the others.

Everyone blames Rod for the lack of Faces reunions but he was the one trying to get that together back in the 90's (on and off), he even took Mac on the road as part of his touring band for a few years.

I met her once. I was playing with a singer/comedienne and she came to one of the Edinburgh gigs. She was lovely, and annoyingly talented. I grew up watching her shows and she will be much missed.

Out of curiosity is there more of a culture of smoking dope at concerts in the US? This is the first gig I've been to in America, in the UK except for occasionally smelling it at outdoor shows its not something I've really experienced before. I was just wondering as a friend had similar comments when he came over last summer.

Was at the show last night. I flew 3500 miles to be there and it was amazing. So glad I went, and now I have finally been to a show at Madison square gardens! Can't fault David or the show in any way. The only let down was the people around me who spent half the night smoking weed, going to get more beer (I had an isle seat) and chatting. One guy got chucked out which was pretty funny!

I have a suspicion that the European dates will soon be cancelled. I think the talk of a guest singer is fulfill the commitment for the current US tour and avoid any penalties or insurance payouts. Sadly it seems it might be over for them now.

I feel a bit sorry for Rod always being blamed for the faces not reuniting earlier. He did try to reform the band a couple of times in the 90's but Woody was touring with that other band I think that is how Mac ended up in Rods solo band for a few years. By the time the others were all talking about a faces reunion Rod was doing his Songbook tours. It took him 20 years to get to that projec
