My wife and I are feeling very sad. We knew it was coming, but not that fast. I will always remember when Jan visited us with another Stones fan/friend to enjoy a tasty coffee and some Japanese snacks and lots of talks about the Stones. RIP Jan, your spirit will be with us.

Mainstream ??? When I read that word I see a shepherd followed by thousands of sheep. The "problem" with the Rolling Stones is that they, right from the start, were never really part of "mainstream" of any kind. My parents generation hated the Stones right from the beginning, when they became internationally sort of known, because they didn't line up with .... mainstr

QuoteHonestman Quotegeorgie48 ...but French interviews are "difficult" for many so mostly limited to French (and some Belgium?) fans. Thanks! How about chinese interviews ? Maybe my oldest daughter can help Mick out there. She speaks Manderin (apart from 6 other Languages ). And after the interview (just like thomashanck did) translate in into English (or French, or ...). Anyway

Despite some odd errors, this was really fun to read. Ah, finally the world gets to know how amazingly big (not to forget unique) the Rolling Stones with their (only yet) 80 years young frontman are. Smiles on my face all the time

QuoteRocky Dijon In the grand scheme of things, that's just a drop in the bucket. Yep, "in the grand scheme of things" our globe is by far not even a drop in the bucket. The James Webb telescope is slowly starting to teach us that even the age of "our" Universe could become a drop in another bucket way beyond our imagination. To me Mick and the other Rolling Stones hav

QuoteSighunt Jokingly, I told my wife that I'm still waiting for my invitation. She shot me a deadpan look and stated, "Even with all the money you've spent on the Rolling Stones over the last 50 years, you'd be lucky to get a used napkin from that party..." Ouch! Well Sighunt, just to let you know. We've all been invited ... in spirit Maybe your wife will under

QuoteDGA35 Quoteshawnriffhard1 I can't recall where I read it, but isn't this the cover of the 1970 tour program? Yes, the ship/old car were the tour poster, most likely the tour program, too. Who's the guy with his eyes blacked out, Allen Klein? Yes, it's him. So he must have had a voice there still somehow. Managers promoting themselves are no real managers ...

This is very hypothetical, because there would be no way to sell out Keith to start with. Would they sell less t

QuoteDan Said differently : in 86 Mick and Keef hated each other. In 88 they had realized they could not live without the other one. Hate is not what was the case. It was merely two "childish" (spoiled?) adults, who were p*ssed off by eachother and used the media to release their emotions. It can happen to all of us. "Hate" rips things apart, being "p*ssed off has pl

QuoteJbeckerfan QuoteRocky Dijon There were articles in the trades at the time. One of Cohl's business ventures was predicated on participation in the next Stones tour. The band had a problem with being used as a bargaining chip without consent. The band simply used Paul Wasserman's office to make terse statements that they had no plans to tour. A perfectly legal and effective means of

Wasn’t there this “story” about an offer from Cohl (secretly negotiated with Prince Rupert) to pay the Stones 1 billion dollars for a new tour? Wasn’t there a “behind the scenes war” to make sure Cohl wouldn’t make a penny of the Stones after that “insulting” proposal? Didn’t Cohl buy himself into stadium contract deals as to still be able to make money from the Stones? Isn’t the truth harder tha

Maybe I'm a weirdo, but over the past almost 60 years I really never thought in terms of "studio albums". Musicians are just like any other kind of artist. At some point you have an idea, but after several try-outs the result is not satisfying. So ... you put in on a shelf for the time being. Another day, when you just happen to run out of ideas you pick up some material from the s

Keith was sort of watching his step, Mick and Ronnie merely walked very slowly. Mick was seen in a disco dancing, Ronnie was swinging on stage with Van Morrison and Keith ... well, don't worry about Keith. They are just fine and .... something is happe

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteHound Dog What is the point of this? That they could've bumped at least 2 of the 4 new songs at the time off, put on at least two others, and then updated it and called it SIXTY LICKS? That would have made much more sence indeed Apart from that, I wonder wether or not LIAGT will be on the new album. Maybe with the pre-Covid lyrics?
