QuotePelle Why isn’t there any credits for the sax-solo anywhere? Or am I crazy? Cuz that’s a sax-solo in the ending of the song RIGHT? No sax on DOY, only strings (which are credited).King and Blake are credited on SSOH (if memory serves) and James King is credited on GC.

QuoteStoneage Jagger solo material, really. I can't take the lyrics seriously. A polygamist singing about fidelity? In all the Jagger songs he's always complaining about all the women leaving him and treating him badly. Really? I'm supposed to believe that? Actually, it wasn't. Mick had a ballad he wanted on the album, but Keith and Watt didn't think it was good enoug

QuoteStoneage Another thing with SSOH is that it's a ballad (soul) which means that they have to move either Gimme Shelter, Miss You or YCAGWYW to make space for it. Which calls for a decision to be made... They'll probably move YCAGWYW earlier in the set, like they've done before. Can't see them skipping it.

QuoteStoneage If you follow the standard setlists the last decades you will see that new material is included in the first set of the show, usually between song 3 and 8. After that it's the usual suspects. Usually they include 2 new songs which sometimes ends in 1 song before the tour is over. My guess is that the 2* new songs will be upbeat songs since that is the pattern of the first set

There is no way they had access to the multitracks on VL Uncut. It sounds like they just drenched the VHS-recording in lots of filters. It sounds like a fog, where it's impossible to hear the individual instruments, especially the guitars. Too bad. I liked their sound on that tour.

Quotefrankotero Would be great to hear She Smiled Sweetly in soundboard quality. I’m sure it came off amazing like Lady Jane London 2012. Also criminal that it probably won’t be released. These are songs I wish they would play this year. Fingers crossed. Good one!

Quoteshadooby Nope don’t smoke. Two separate copies skipping or hanging at exact same spot on 3 different cd decks and 1 pc can rule that out. It’s a manufacturing defect. Sounds like a problem with the batch from Amazon.

Quotematxil QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotewindmelody Quotebakersfield ... It is great if you enjoy Hackney Diamonds, Bakersfield, and you definitely have a point: Many Stones songs depend on the band's performance: Jagger's voice, the weaving of the guitars, the rhythm section. Yet, to my impression, many songs on Hackney Diamonds sound fresh, but very constructed. An example for that

Quotewindmelody Quotebakersfield Hackney Diamonds is the stones best album since I’m girls in my opinion. Those of us on this board like the stones just because of the sound they make so we enjoy albums like Emotional Rescue and Undercover though the quality of the songwriting isn’t that great because we like the guitar sound, the way that Micks voice sounds et cetera. Hackney diamonds stands out

Quotepftw04 I have been wondering for a while that who did the guitar work in Hackney Diamonds? Is it KZeith or Mick or Ronnie? It is true Keith played solo on 3 songs that is Angry,Tell me Straight and maybe Driving me too hard Yep, Keith played the solos on those tracks. He also plays a lot of lead licks on SSOH (left channel), Bite My Head Off (before the ending in the right channel) and o

QuoteMadMax The worst song they've released the last 30 years. The only thing that redeems it is the sax solo. The introducing rhythm guitar is Jagger through and through, Keith would never play like that, Spin Doctors Pt II. Awful and not worthy The Rolling Stones. NO swagger. No Stones Magic. Sounds like MOR ca 1993. As danceable as Offspring or Green Day. Come Mess It Up I dance l

Quoteliddas QuoteLeonidP And I'd remove Connection, Keith is just background on that one. I know he did it live w/ Winos, but I don't think he ever did it w/ the Stones live. He sang it at least twice with the stones: it's on the Shine a Light movie! C He's done it lots of times. A killer version in Hyde Park in 2022, for instance.

QuoteThe Joker Is Ya yas JJF version the only (overdubbed) that features the one-time only "It's alllllllllll right" instead of "It's all right, It's all right" ? They erase the MSG original vocal to make it sound more like the JJF studio version? Also on Rock'n'Roll Circus and Leeds 71.
