Quotelikecats QuoteKennedy I live in Pasadena, about 2 miles from Old Town and the Rose Bowl. Pasadena does events right when it comes to safety...not to mention these parts of Pasadena being safe areas in general. Logistics is another story entirely. I hate events at the Rose Bowl, as it sits down in a canyon with limited single lane roads in/out. To give you an idea of how much I

And having been to many events at both the Rose Bowl and Hollywood Bowl, there is no comparison. Hollywood Bowl is a walk in the park compared to the Rose Bowl shitshow.

QuoteHairball Quoteclapton71 They typically do stop here on their tours. I would say they have a great showing here for the most part. That might explain why the floor seats are cheaper than most of the other stops. I expect nothing but a great show and performance. Saw them during the Licks tour at America West Arena, and it was fantastic! One of my favorite shows! We drove over last

Not to mention the convenient free shuttle service to and from Old Town, but maybe Kennedy prefers walking to a stadium in 120 degree desert heat in Glendale, AZ? See ya'll in in Pasadena AND Glendale!!! And

Quotekeefmick As I understand it, it is very safe as loads of people will be walking to Old Town hotels, including me and my daughter. Very safe. Especially when there is an event in town. You certainly can't go wrong with Nashville...you would have an amazing time. But you might also consider Memphis for a more blues-oriented time. Plus, Graceland, Sun Studios, Lorraine Motel. You will love both, so there is no bad choice between the 2.

The Howard-haters here probably haven't tuned in to him in the last 10 years, and are (understandably) basing their opinions on his old shenanigans. He really has evolved into a masterful and very respectful interviewer. His format lends itself to a very deep insightful discussion. But I agree that mick would never let his guard down for an interview like this. I think the closest we

QuoteElmo Lewis QuoteJMARKO I think this was the beginning of the new Stones, and it took them around 10 years to perfect it. The best shows came in 98 at MSG, and also 99. Then, if memory serves me it was Licks with the small, medium, and large venues. Also strong shows. After this the tours start to falter slightly more each time. Bridges and No Security Yeah, I'd agree with that. I

Quotebenstones We were extremely lucky to see the Stones at their best between 2012 and 2018. In 2007 I thought it was the end, so I feel so happy and lucky that I could see them every year from 2012 and 2018. I mean, they are almost 76 years old and Charlie is soon 78. If Mick has to slow down, it is totally normal, his health FIRST! and we - fans - have to understand it. I totally accept to

I have a love/hate relationship with the Steel Wheels tour. Most of the 80s were painful for me as a Stones fan. I mean, I would get physically ill to my stomach thinking about the idea that I may never see them live again, and knowing full well that the Stones could blow the doors off the crap on the radio at the time. Finally some hope in late 88, early 89 when it became clear that somethi

I suspect in both cases, they were probably just talking shit and showing off to their respective hangers-on, and the story evolved in their minds over time. In both bases, there would be some legit corroboration, but there is none whatsoever.

Quotedimrstone QuoteKennedy Why would you stay in Westwood? Why not? Because I could name you at least 10 better options for out of town guests looking for a fun weekend. Maybe 20. Westwood isn't really a "go to" for just about anything, unless UCLA related. More residential.

If you are from out of town and want to stay somewhere cool, centrally located to great spots, and with some great rock history, stay at the Andaz on Sunset. Formerly the infamous Riot (Hyatt) House.
