QuoteDGA35 I'm a bit surprised they're coming back to Vancouver. Just saw them summer of 22 in Abbotsford just outside of Vancouver. Was a slow seller so I bought $25 tickets for the Ticketmaster concert week. They're playing the Queen Elizabeth Theatre this time which holds just under 3000. You won't get in for less than $100 at the QET. Even though I shouldn't le

QuoteStoneZP For many fans "Santa Monica" is a "Holy Grail". Let's hope a complete quality video appears because it is very welcome, such as this one: There's rumours of one or two pro-filmed shows from June '74 at MSG in NYC on the Diamond Dogs tour. Supposedly it's in the Mainman vault, or whoever owns it now (maybe his son Duncan?). We have

QuoteDoxa QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteDoxa To me it looks like that Keith is not such a fan of any "fat fuzzy" guitar sounds at all. He never been a fan of fuzz boxes or pedals of any sort. It's the guitar, the amp and the man... The use of fuzz box in "Satisfaction" was a trick to mimic sax horn sound or something. I guess for many hearing that was like an eye-opening momen

Tom Waits wrote this poem for Keith's 80th: “Burnt Toast to Keith” When I think about Keith, I am reminded that the best songs come from the gutter…but it is a hell of a place to fish when you have to sit on the curb What do you use for bait? a piece of red cloth will do or a candy wrapper Good songs jump right on your hook and the hook is in the song for good…Keith can grit his

Dumpstaphunk would blow The Stones away, even if they got lousy sound like Living Colour did in '89. I enjoyed Bob Dylan opening at Desert trip (#2), better than The Stones that night. Bump for Samantha Fish. Seen her twice now and she's always captivating.

People are concerned about the steepness factor in the 400 level. There's no way they're going to tell people not to stand and dance at a Phish show, but the spun (ie. wasted) factor is so high they're going to have to put nets under the balcony or something. Phish fans are known to 'take a dive' even at regular arenas.

Quotecyclist I'm curious how much work is necessary to make these visuals. A four night residency isn't long... Fairly attainable for, say, octogenarians looking for something to do after Santa Clara... For U2, it took about 15 minutes per panel (and there are many), per song (say 5 minutes each). Of course, it will be different with Phish and their 20-minute jams.

Top 'standard' ticket prices are $181.20. I guess that's cheap compared to U2.

>>>Vancouver's always been a great Stones town Well, the show at BC Place in 1998 had something like 15 000 unsold seats. They didn't even bother coming in 2002/03, and initially had Van Morrison as the opener (changed to Bonnie Raitt on rescheduling) in 2006, as a likely ticket sales booster, although it ended up pretty full. ...and they repeatedly skipped Vancouver from

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteIrix QuoteNICOS Who/what is AARP? "American Association of Retired Persons" - . It would have to be an absolutely MASSIVE cheque cut to offset how totally uncool that is as a sponsor. Not as uncool as if they had been sponsored by Depends, Geritol, or Hair Growth for Men.

For The Stones at NOLA Jazz Fest in 2019, there were phone ticket sales, which worked for me. I would recommend this method if they do it again.

At least The Stones got some great footage from their 'prime' era (which leads up to 1982 imo). Some bands like Pink Floyd have next to zero pro-shot live material from their classic period (1972-1977), considering their popularity.

Mick's voice definitely has gotten thinner, but not croaky like Daltrey or warbley like Macca. Still, Roger and Paul gave 110% every night until they couldn't anymore, while Mick played it safe. Who's more rock and roll?

I worked as an extra in Pirates 4. Did a scene with Johnny (the last one), but not with Paul, alas. I did talk to Paul's stand-in, who was another extra, and he told me of hanging with Paul & co that day and how personable and fun he was, and how genuinely excited he was to be doing a big movie. He apparently sang another song for that scene as well, but the name escaped me.

Quotetommycharles QuoteBeastyBurdenyThanks for the info, and definitely no disrespect toward the band from me for it. Roger nails LROM and the rest of the show is great. I love the Who and will gladly see them again, if ever I get the chance. Roger's singing has been sort of miraculous these last few years, you'd never believe he's 80. I've seen the current tour a couple of

QuoteMizzAmandaJonez Looking at their 100% different set list on night#2 makes me realize how special these guys are to their fans. Can you imagine going to three stones shows and no songs are repeated… It's a thing with jambands to not repeat themselves over several nights, though the Grateful Dead were probably the first rock band to adopt it. Phish played 13 nights (Baker's Doze
