"What country has faced no terror attacks since 9/11? " One of the stupidest argument I've heard: how many people died during the WTC attacks? How many died in Europe? I don't think America is safer. Besides, keep your conservative political crap and open a FOX-TV sponsored blog, this is a RS board, not some Republican forum.

In New York, try Q 104.3 FM, excellent classic rock station.

Yeah guys, agreed. I'm very impressed too. I was kind of dubious after Streets of Love and Rough Justice (good but sounding too much like Voodoo Lounge to me). But the extracts I've heard on Rockoff are fantastic! Can't wait to hear the whole album. A bigger bang might be to the Stones what Time Out of Mind was to Dylan.

Damn it, they were playing it this morning on K104.3 FM in New York and I think I fell asleep in between 2 songs! (it was played at 8 am!). Is the song available on iTunes or something like that?

Take the A-train and the opening notes of Under my thumb. Really rocks.

We shall see guys, but the titles of the album sound like a mix of Voodoo Lounge redux and Mick's last album. Not too bad but not too good either.

The New York Times May 19, 2005 Chuck Leavell: Roots of a Rolling Stone By ANDREW JACOBS DRY BRANCH, Ga. TO music fans of a certain age, Chuck Leavell is rock's quintessential rambling man. Over the course of three rollicking decades, he has played keyboards with the Allman Brothers Band, George Harrison, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones, traveling the world on yearlong concert

The minute or so that I've been able to catch on this f*** broadcast gave me an idea: this minute of Brown Sugar might have been the best I've caught in a loooong time. Should the Stones cut all the background musicians they usually have on tour? Should they only play the 4 of them? No bass, no Lisa, no Chuck, no Bobby and so on. What do you guys think? I know it's a strange

What do you guys think? Nothing really interesting, they were very defensive. Keith sounded like he was 12 (when he talked - I especially loved the "you can keep the money pal!" come on...). Otherwise, we just know the stage is gonna be pretty special and that's it. The stuff they said on the album sounds like boilerplate. Hmmm, I have mixed feelings. Maybe they were just nerv

1. The need to have Keith sing 3 songs on every last album 2. The horrendous prices they charge for the concerts 3. Their so-so albums since Steel Weels

I totally agree with you guys, HTW is pure brilliance. It defines the essence of the Stones: a solid "square" drum rythm, simple yet kick-ass starting riff, the amazing solid solo before the chorus, the sexually explicit lyrics. Come on guys, the album version IS the Stones!

I'm not gonna repeat again that MT was (and still is) a much better addition to the Stones than RW, but it's not fair to blame the poor guy for the (mostly) mediocre albums the Stones recorded since he left the band. The Glimmer Twins are just getting old and creativity is fading away. How many artist from the 60's-70's recorded major albums 30-40 years later, except for Dylan

I don't think it's about lazyness, just that RW didn't feed Mick and Keith with any sort of artistic creativity. How many songs did he help to write? How many of them were terrible? While MT in the same time wrote some amazing jewels as Moonlight Mile (I met with him in Paris a few years ago and confessed he should have been credited for this song). It's also notorious that Mi

For having interviewed MT a few years ago in Paris, I could feel talking to the guy that he realized what a stupid mistake he made in leaving the Stones. He would definitely come back if the Glimmer Twins would ask him to, but Ron is here to stay. Not because RW is better than MT, but because he doesn't steal their thunder. And LA Forum is totally right, as much as Keith is a fantastic mus
