QuoteUrbanSteel Is the single Brown Sugar / Wild Horses a completely new single in the Single Box Volume 2? In the CD-Box the singles 1968-1971 is the CD-Single Brown Sugar / Bitch. The Rolling Stones never released this on their own label. You HAVE this new singles boxset? How is it? Mine is on its way.

I’ve given the album a rest for the past two weeks. Listening to lots of other things like Free, Taylor Swift, Broderick Smith, Gregory Alan Isakov, Mark Knopfler, The Beatles, Cold Chisel, Peter Gabriel and Russell Morris. Enjoyed all that. Today I took out the Carnaby Red version of Hackney Diamonds. Wow, what a record. It is holding up better and better the more I play it. Definitely a

The 2022 stage, for a band as big as The Stones, who had always pushed the boundaries in this regard, ever since the “petal stage”, is down right embarrassingly bad.

QuoteMadMetaphoricalMax There's a lot of crafting, care and detail on these songs, even if it's just where the handclaps begin, or where there is a little twist of a counter-riff to strengthen the whole structure. More so than on quite a number of their albums, and if it's a different modus operandi, then fine - because the result to me is a joyous, classic album, still on repeated

There is something off on those. Yes, El Mocambo is mixed decent, but actually it deserves a brilliant mixing like Side 3 of Love You Live. It's a mystery to me why they didn't use the mixing template fro

QuoteMeise At least, Mess It Up is accompanied by a music video. Like it: video: Just a pity about the song. Easily my least fave on an otherwise very consistently great album.

Quotetreaclefingers Quotebitusa2012 Why bother? IF there was an unreleased track ON a B side, yep, all for it. But if it was just another song off the album with an etching on the b side, forget it. I don’t want a single to watch a video. But but...isn't that an awesome way to score chicks nowadays? Why don't you come back to my place and I'll show you some awesome side-B-Rollin

Not the right place I know, but Channel 7 Sunrise show in Australia just had a banner headline “Concerts in Sydney” scrolling over the screen with a video of The Stones playing.

QuoteMarkdog solid tune. Simple riff made very sweet by how Rixh plays it. Overall sound is good. Classic Crowes blues rock tune, almost sounds like I heard it before. Its a weak single though. The pre-chorus should have been the chorus with the faster beat and the Chorus line isn't that catchy. I'm kind of over that type back up singing. You HAVE heard it before I reckon. Jealou

QuoteVoodooLounge13 QuoteLien Love it! Sounds great!!! Hearkens back to classic Crowes!!! I agree. Fantastic track. The first line of singing though, it sounds exactly like the first two lines of Jealous Again, melodically, no? As I’ve posted on SHF, if the rest of the album is like this, tight songs with no extended meandering and jamming, I’ll be all over this!!

Quotewiredallnight QuoteVoodooLounge13 There's no physical release for Mess It Up, right? Just digitally released and the remix? A promo CDR: (if it is genuine and not a bootleg...) Genre: Electronic It’s why it’s my least favourite on HD - It’s just NOT The Stones !!

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteVoodooLounge13 Could it be the lack of Charlie?? For me, it just doesn't SOUND like a Stones record. Specifically, it doesn't SOUND like the Stones. I hear Mick singing loud and clear, and it's the best he's sounded since B2B IMHO, but the album lacks the distinctive Stones sound.... I am happy it's doing so well in the charts though!! Very

I might delay my own retirement if… …When working full time BV set up and ran the greatest Rolling Stones fan website in the world.. .. yet in retirement, hasn’t got the time to do so!! Just kidding. This site is a labour of love. It’s the first thing I look at on my phone every morning whilst still in bed, and it’s the last site I go to at night on my phone before turning the light off.

I know Mick and Charlie were the creative forces ( behind stage design at least), signing off on them. I guess Mick signed off on the HD album cover/s. What was he thinking in having a gatefold for the vinyl with ZIP actually IN the inner sleeves? A completely wasted opportunity. ROLLING STONES? We KNOW who the album is from…we didn’t need to open it up to see.. just a silly artistic move.

Re that review. I DO agree that Live by the Sword, my favourite track, along with Depending on You, IS the most Stones-sounding song on the record, and it IS because of the, for want of a better word, FLAT guitars. They’re not pumped up and “processed” like on every other track, where they (the guitars) JUMP OUT at you, NOT sounding like typical Stones guitars. And I do love typical Stones soundi
