The album shows two fantastic bassists, McCartney and Wyman. (And Keith is damn good on Angry). It puts them both on a different plane of bass player.

Watched the full live performance from the Racket last night. Sounded great live. Even Darryl wasn't totally lost. Am I dreaming, or do you think Jordan is kicking his ass, trying to show him what rock and roll is?

Read a Keith interview in Guitar Player yesterday. He said it was too bad they all couldn't be there when Bill recorded his part, but says him and Bill stay in touch. Keith doesn't think he's that in touch with Mick and Ron these days, and that Keith makes a point to see him when he's in London. In the same issue was an interview with Andrew Watt. He said when Bill heard the p

Andrew must not know everything about the Stones. It was Brian who was on the phone and gave them the name from Muddy Waters.

I cringed, trying to watch Keith play guitar. Not because of Keith, but I find Fallon unwatchable. I certainly don't want to hear him sing. (Although he did a couple good parodies in the past).

QuoteMrForeverMusicFan QuoteFrogSugar I'm a bit surprised that they let Watt take on the bass duties on the album, what does this mean? I'm sure that Darryl is the technically better player... Why are they letting the 30-something Ozzy producer take on the bass duties on HD? Something just doesn't add up, I'm sure Darryl would have been more than happy/available to play on i

QuoteMrForeverMusicFan QuoteBlueranger No one has ever claimed Darryl is the only bass player. He is a hired hand. Even though Bill Wyman was a full-fledged member of The Rolling Stones for 30 years, he didn't play bass on every song on all the band's albums during that time period. And Keith didn't play guitar on every track. And Mick didn't sing on every cut. And Charlie

Quotesnoopy2 Hey 24FPS any other Walmarts you could drive to tomorrow for your Saturday listen? FYI I tried a couple Walmarts and found one when it opened at 6am today that had "1" copy on vinyl so snagged that.. Best of luck Thanks. I really wanted it for this Saturday night, and downloaded it for $8.70 USD. That way I get to hear it, and my local library will have it soon enough if

QuoteMarkdog I keep finding myself going back to this tune. It's really good, catchy, groovy, nice guitars and feel. Charlie creates a groove that, to me, is just notably better than Steve's. Steve is a great drummer and perfect fit after Charlie, but side by side it's not even close. Throw in bill (who turns 87 next week!)with his classic, just behind the beat style and you have

Darryl has become what Bill ruefully stated many years ago. "I think they just want me around so they have someone play bass live." It took some time before Bill's contribution in the studio was finally appreciated. Hell, Howard Stern just told Keith Richards last week that Paul Simon said Bill's bass line was so important to Satisfaction. The problem with Darryl is that h

So far, so bad. Here in U.S. went to Walmart, Target, and Best Buy one after the other. Best Buy no longer sells CDs, and only has a tiny DVD section. Walmart has a tiny CD section, and Target has one short row of CDs and Vinyl. None of them had Hackney Diamonds in any format, but Target sure had a buttload of Taylor Swift CDs and vinyl. Neither Walmart nor Target had a specific section for new r

Quotehockenheim95 And no Bernard Fowler! The Stones do nothing by chance. Keith's bass on Angry sounds like what the bass on a Stones song should sound like. They must have heard by now how that was a problem in their overall sound. As for Chuck, I don't know. They used to change the on stage lineup every three years or so. It hasn't been freshened up in 30 years. Maybe that just

Won't be able to hear it in full until tomorrow when I can buy it. But it's already better than their last two albums from Angry and Sweet Sounds of Heaven alone. They're both hit singles to me, and they're really good. BTB didn't have a hit single, and ABB only had Rough Justice.

Just listened to the whole thing. Overall a great interview. Howard asked a lot of questions and covered a lot of ground. Would love to have Keith come back for round two. It was actually better than I thought it would be. Bill and Charlie got their due. You know a name that never came up, Ron Wood. (Or Ian Stewart, but that's a bit more obscure). Or Mick Taylor. See, there's still a lo

QuoteTaylor1 Does he discuss Brian ? In the snippet talking about the naming of the Stones would have been the perfect time to mention Brian. Keith talked about the phone call and the MW record nearby, but not the man who made the call, both on the phone, and to name the group. Maybe Brian is mentioned somewhere else in the interview.

QuoteHalfNanker Quote24FPS So fantastic for Bill to finally get his due for his part on Satisfaction. Initiated by Paul Simon no less. I've wondered for years why no one brought it up. I bet Mick went right out and added Bill's name to the song writing credits after that interviews! And Brian to Ruby Tuesday. And Bill to Jumpin' Jack Flash.

I'm sure Howard will go a good job, but he'll probably not know as much about the band as we'd hope with such a rare opportunity. His Jagger interview was a bit of joke, short, and like Mick couldn't wait to get it over with. We'll proababy get the cliche 'glad to be anywhere' followed by a phlegmy chuckle. Not expecting some great expose, but it could be en

I meant Darryl, the fact t
