Shantipole While Devil - Jesus part is quite straightforvard (although, not very convinient in the interpretation) the Master-Margarita part requires knowledge of the history of the USSR in the 30's. Anyway, that is not an easy reading.

Maybe I missed something in the previous posts. Anyway, do you actually gave a spin to the CD? Apparently there is a misprint on the back cover. Track 15 is listed as Hoagy Carmichael - The Nearness Of You But CD actually plays Gordon Jenkins & His Orchestra & The Weavers - Goodnight Irene. PS. Booklet has this misprint too. Track 15 is listed as Hoagy Carmichael

Quoteexilestones Exile 72438-47864-2-7 Here we have 2 issues. 1 - this upload violates forum's policy. You are providing link to official material. You'd better remove this link. 2 - You do not include log and cue files. Thus no one can reproduce exact copy of the CD to compare. And no one knows if you rip the CD using proper settings. QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteTestify I think the Stones in their career they never released an official live without overdubs. If there is a mistake they correct you do this for the overdubs. It would be annoying to hear every time a mistake, especially when it is obvious. LIVE IN TEXAS? BRUSSELS? Brussels has overdobs. All Down The Line - Mick Taylor's solo from the 1st show was used whole th

Here we go with the old version of the EOMS 'Collector's Edition' in oversized plastic case. The booklet (vinyl replica) is essentially the same as posted by exilestones above but w/o barcode. The barcode is on a special sticker at the plastic case. The extras are the same. CD Here we have old fashioned matrix. At 4 o'clock - 39503 01# = short catalog number follow

exilestones EAC allows to rip accurately your CD and to compare the results with database. In the end you'll get checksums for the files and peak levels. So you'll know what mastering you have. CueTools is a similar program with additiona options. It allows you to compare your rip with multiple other rips of the same or similar CDs (different pressings). Both programs return the s

Guys, why dont' you check matrix numbers for those CDs or run them through EAC or CueTools? Maybe the difference is only the packing and label print? I am 150% sure that 'Collector's edition' posted by rogerriffin and regular pressing from Holland came with the same mastering by Bob Ludwig. I am not sure they are 'bit by bit' clones but they are clones within null

Quoteflacnvinyl EXACTLY. I think most people really don't care though. A great comparison is to listen to Still Life and then the official Hampton 81 release. Hampton has louder bass and the whole mix fights itself due to heavy compression. Guitars are also thinner. Still Life, on the other hand only sounds better the louder you turn it up, because of dynamic range. I believe you are

Quotefullbandwith That rippling/banding you see is Microphony. Quite often that happens with old tube cameras in high volume situation. Thats neither a masetering or tape fault, thats come from the camera.. Enjoy its retro look. see link i found for explaination better than me. That what I was thinking at the first place. Those lines are kind of natural for old video. However, there cou

Quotekleermaker Well, you asked for it. I listened to it all, with growing disgust and with the biggest effort. It's one big, bad parody, especially after having heard the 1971 live releases. Do you expect a bunch of old farts at their 70s would play the same way they did 40+ years ago? C'mon, just enjoy the music, the fact they are still around and aging gracefully (to some extend).

You don't pay to watch movie trailers, do you? Yeah, that Marquee teaser in Sticky Fingers Superdeluxe was for free for sure

Those lines... I am positive there was a note about this effect on Deep Purple Live in Concert 1972/73 DVD. Something to do with audio and video interplay at high audio volumes. Can't check it now, because do not have that disc in hands.

QuotePoetry In fact it seems that the original cds from mid/late 80s are generally the best for Stones. Anyway, which version of Exile would you recommend? Most of those are not that easily available, though. Exile is an easy case. 1. Virgin remaster from 1994. This is the best value. Easy to find and generally cheap. 2. The best sound is on 2013 Japanese remaster (Promotone UICY-40001). B
