Hi all! I often compile my own "Best of" etc. CDs. This is my version of a possible 4-CD box of "Beggars Banquet), taken only from what´s available (officially and unofficially). It could of course include some more slightly different mixes - I chose the ones that I listen to the most. I didn´t include any versions of Memo From Turner, as they were apparently recorded after the

Bill also claims to have "written" the JJF riff and that Brian/Bill/Charlie was jamming on that riff before Mick/Keith arrived (to the studio). I believe Brian could very well play (and be heard) on the finished track - as on the alternate "live in the studio"-sounding promo video backing tracks.

QuoteHis Majesty Still a Fool ain't from Redlands, myth nonsense, tis from Olympic Sound Studios, the slide is definitely Brian Jones. One of the best Rolling Stones tracks around imo! Brian it is! (IMO by the sound of it) Great, sleepy, late night blues feeling...

QuoteUrbanSteel QuoteDeltics QuoteUrbanSteel Quoterootsman The only official CD mono release of Honky Tonk Women (that I know of) is on the same 1989 3-CD box; although the cowbell intro is in "stereo", i.e. slightly to one channel. Maybe this should be a new tread? Strange , the cowbell moves from the right to the middle . To go back to the original thread, listening again to YCAG

Quotemitch Quoterootsman Well, you can´t always trust the bootleg track titles/information... The track called Aftermath on the "Necropilia" bootlegs is in fact the instrumental jam from the Andrew´s Blues session in Feb. 1964 - often called Mr. Spector And Mr Pitney Came too The problem is that the Necrophilia boot (VGP ay least) comes from an official release... and the tracklist i

According to Bill Wyman ("Rolling With The Stones", side 297): Aftermath = 2000 Light Years From Home God Bless You = Sing This All Together After Five = Citadel Flowers = She´s A Rainbow Pieces - he doesn´t give another name for this

I´ve got the true stereo mix of As Tears Go By on a 1973 pressing of "Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass)". Matrix on the b-side is XZAL-7504-6D. There may of course be other pressings with this matrix. Hope this helps...

I suppose it could be the July version, although I doubt it because of the double tracked vocals, which is closer in feel to the regular studio version than any available 1969 live vocal versions that I´ve heard. It certainly isn´t David Frost or Ed Sullivan either. Is that July TOTP version somewhere to be found?

Quotealimente Quoterootsman Great - thanks a lot!! It is indeed an alternate mix with different vocals! Checked it again, and my conclusion is that it is an OUTFAKE created from the UK TV "Top Of The Pops" 1969 performance. This had the studio backing track with live vocals. I don´t think so, the vocals are different - check especially after the line "I laid a divorcee in
