I was among the many hopefuls camping out in the parking lot for the Benefit concert in January '73 There was some serious waiting and stress about if the Stones would be given visa's.

Sadly, and with no shortage of irony here, Fogarty caused no less pain to his brother and bandmates than Zaentz inflicted on him(for his earlier mistake). While Fogarty lost millions on songwriter royalties, the band lost concert revenue and artist royalties, had they continued. JF did get wealthy non the less from his songwriter share per his legal entitlements.

Quotefloodonthepage Love Me Do Stones are my #1, but it took them a minute to catch up and indeed surpass. I agree, the few Beatle songs I like are the very early singles. When the Stones love of music led to songwriting and their own sound, the Beatles couldn't keep up, they couldn't even tour or continue.

QuoteHairball Quoteslewan well, at least the Beatles wrote their song while the Stones covered Chuck Berry The Beatles' original creativity was already shining with a small glimpse of the genius and massive greatness that was to follow, while the Stones hadn't even begun to find their way. With the help of the Beatles who were leading by example, the Stones were given the blueprin

QuoteTopi I still find it funny that we're outraged about Springsteen's ticket prices on a Rolling Stones board. While the ticket prices are comparable, consider how many times greater the Stones catalog and performance's are than Springsteens.

QuoteNashvilleBlues Nightshift last night was hard to watch. His pretentious faces and grandpa dancing were hilarious. Lounge act vibes. Lots seemed to like it, however. This is so sad. Pull this Bruce, and burn all the master tapes.

The best way I can justify spending a high price for Stones tickets is to donate an equal amount to Charity. Not the corporate charities, but the home grown and hands on ones. I am pretty well networked so I'm most pleased with the results. I know many can't afford this, so I'm very lucky I can do this. If I couldn't do this, I'd still see the Stones, for sure.

Quotegeorgie48 QuoteKurt QuoteNilsHolgersson Like Elvis THE ROLLING STONES before him, Eminem took black music and watered it down to make it safe for lame whites who couldn't handle the experience of raw black music Fixed it for ya. Not funny, Kurt. To start with, black music in the days of Elvis, Buddy, Eddy C., etc. was hardly available for "lame whites". A few, like Chuck,

So many cool songs predate Love Me Do, that are better imo. The Beatles came just when teeny boppers needed some out of control hysteria. Well done, lads.Thank God for the great British bands that soon followed.

Come On was the start for the Rolling Stones, and their amazing catalog, which they are still performing in 2022. The Beatles limped out after about 10 years. Love Me Do is a nod to Hey Baby. Not that original.
