QuoteSpud There's a place in Rock n Roll for instrumental virtuosity ... ....but it's seldom a major factor in the best Rock n Roll Absolutley true. But that´s another story. Despite of technical skills I would rate Black And Blue far higher than the best album of Jeff Beck. Maybe that leads us back to the topic of the thread...

QuoteDandelionPowderman I liked the «triple intro» with the Barbarians! But Keith is playing the chorus in that Minneapolis-video, methinks. I guess you´re right. I did not noticed that the former intro IS indeed the chorus

Interesting that he played chords the way he used to do with the New Barbarians. He never did that kind of intro again after 1979, I think.

Listened to the alternate "Start me up" which I enjoy a lot. Reminds me to "A harder they come" guitarwise. But: is that really Charlie playing on this? For me it does not sound like him, what do you think?

QuoteDoxa QuoteTumblinDice76 On a side note everything Sir Paul has done past 1975 has been a total bore and everything past March 1970 has been a slight bore. What ever keeps you in the news Paul.... Haha.. When I consult my personal taste - a root for any objective judgement in the world of aesthetics naturally - I easily understand that BLUE&LONESOME is better than anything Sir Paul or h

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteTheflyingDutchman I miss the Stones between 1969 and 1974. Jezus. The 1974 stage left a lot to be desired, though I don´t think so, because if the 1974-stage would have been a bit higher, Charlie would not get drowned in bubbles...

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotedeardoctor Now we know two things: - There won"t be a remix of TY in the next years (I was hoping for it as Giles Martin did a great job. Maybe he was too expensive? Every Stones-album would deserve it, especially Dirty work.) - There won't be any Deluxe-versions of IORR or BAB as the great Outtakes of that period inclusive Scarlet are out of the bag

The vocals weren't "redone" - they hadn't been done. Facts matter. Well I remember former vocals at least: waiting on a friend (quite unfinished), slave ("I wanna be your slave" instead of
