Quotepeoplewitheyes I am People With Eyes, 1975 vintage, brought up and taught up in England, a decade in Mexico and now residing on a Greek island. I've seen the Stones 3 1/2 times, the last being at Twickenham with my 3 youngish children (who loved it). Pleased to meetcha You have to tell us how you saw the Stones three and a half times!

If Godard had spare footage from the few days of the Stones he shot, would he even have considered it worth keeping, given that the Stones weren't the main subject of his film, and he wasn't particularly a fan? My guess is that it got swept up from the cutting room floor and dumped. We don't know exactly what ABKCO bought the rights to - maybe just the released films? We don

QuoteMariuana What I've always been wondering about is where idea for paint it black came from. They were too young to witness it themselves but Mick found exact words to describe that dark and deep depression you feel after losing someone really close and loved one. I asked that years ago: whose funeral is that in Paint It Black? But nobody had any answers.

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl QuoteGreen Lady All the news sources seem obsessed with how transmissible new mutations are, but not whether (once you have caught it) it's any more dangerous than all the rest. With relatively few cases so far, it may be early days yet to reach a conclusion. Fingers crossed that it isn’t as bad as early warnings suggest - we don’t need a new surge, and we DO need Ston

QuoteMelBelli Quotedead.flowers "I'm all sixes and sevens and nines" This refers to playing cards. Sixes and sevens and nines are insignificant cards of lowest value. EDIT: Layout Er, I think it’s rather a reference to “dice.” In craps, rolling sixes, sevens, and nines can be good or bad, depending on the situation. In 2010, Mick revealed he knew very little about gambli

QuoteJadedFaded Concerts are meant for the audience at the show, not for people reading about them online or watching videos. A friend of mine who had seen the Stones about 100 times or more was there. His comment to me was “F*cking WOW. Same old set list but they nailed it like the old days. Sound was perfect!” So it wasn’t a disappointment or a shame for him. And that’s all that matters is how

Quoteangee Quotedaspyknows QuoteNikkei the whole thing is bound to have a different vibe due to what these people paid and the entitlement mentality that comes with it You hit the nail on the head. Folks pay big bucks, mix it with alcohol and they become entitled aholes. Not people like us though, huh? On the set list, I really think the person who said the band treated it like the show

QuoteDEmerson Great post - thanks! 'A true legend' doesn't being to describe DvD, Saw this film a few weeks ago - kind of dark actually - not his usual light hearted stuff - shows the man's range. (Below from his Wikipedia page). A true GREAT. In 1969, Van Dyke appeared in the comedy-drama The Comic, written and directed by Carl Reiner. Van Dyke portrayed a self-destr

Quoteyeababyyea Quotemattleeuk Gimme Shleter from the best seat in the house! My theory of Keith sitting down when playing the intro since Pittsburgh proved to be true. I think he should sit down more often during the shows if it makes him play better. (From a 72 year old perspective) Gimme Shelter comes late in the show, by which time feet and backs will probably be aching, and if sittin

QuoteMisterDDDD Haven’t read the thread.. but had the time of my life regardless of the setlist etc. Kind of expected a shorter setlist. The sound in the venue was the best I’ve ever heard, the acoustics were amazing. So glad I was able to make this show. Had an absolute blast! Even on the Facebook feeds the sound seemed good: glad to hear that was true in the venue for the people who wer

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteBastion QuoteAquamarine but any Stones show is better than most other bands' shows I’m so sorry you have this mindset. Why? Perhaps because it's an attitude that suggests no other bands are worth considering? That's probably not what Aquamarine meant - just that even a bad Stones show has things worth hearing in it (which msy not be the case with oth

Goodnight all. If they're back, I'll try to get my head round whatever new invention lets us time travel to watch a show five hours and several thousand miles away. It's a pleasure, always.

Quoterlj1010 This show isn't "bad", per se. It just feels a bit like a band seriously going through the motions on a night that should have been something special. This. The smaller indoor setting really worked for some things (Rambler, Ghost Town, Slipping Away) but some of the big set pieces that they "have" to play are feeling tired.

GL, however, is much better in finding them, if there are any, really cool. Strange again that only 1 person is streaming... And only 17 songs - maybe because they start late and have to stop early because of the neighbourhood? Hehehe ... There is a second

QuoteStonesFan35 Some folks may have never seen them before and most likely never will again, they have to play the warhorses. This is less likely to be true in a show like this: high prices, probably a higher percentage of die-hard fans. It strikes me that they are treating this extra show like one of their "millionaire's shows".
