Sad, sad news. When I was new to this board her posts were a delight and an inspiration, and remained so although I never had the pleasure of meeting her. Safe journey, and thank you for so much you gave us here. Wishing you popcorn, and roses, and confetti all over the damn place.

A setlist without Rambler or Shelter? Yes, at the Isle of Wight Festival in 2007. Maybe it doesn't count as it was a 15-song festival setlist. Start Me Up You Got Me Rocking Rough Justice Love In Vain (with guest Paolo Nutini) Can't You Hear Me Knocking Ain't Too Proud To Beg (with guest Amy Winehouse) Tumbling Dice --- Introductions I Wanna Hold You (Keith) Slippin

This extraordinary collection includes, among other things, The Keith Richards Blues collection of 18,000 recordings. No one else is saving it’: the fight to protect a historic music collection The ARChive of Contemporary Music, which houses more than 90m songs and is supported by names such as Martin Scorsese, is in need of a new home. It all started in a loft in Tribeca, New York, long

People are always clamouring for the band to do a residency in Las Vegas - I think if they liked the idea they would have done it by now. Desert air doesn't suit Mick's voice, and I don't think they want to settle down in one spot for the rest of their career. They like touring, and will do it as long as they can.

No, the Eel Pie Island museum is not on the island, but a few minutes walk away on the mainland. No Stones-era venue survives on the island, though if you are in Twickenham it's worth taking time to visit the riverside.

QuoteIrix QuoteGreen Lady A small complaint: would it have been so very difficult to list the performers for each track? You can see the performers for each track here: - (i)-button. Thanks, but I can't find an (i) button on that link. But even if I could, the information should be somewhere in thst fancy-schmancy booklet that the CDs come in.

So there won't ever be a Charlie Watts Museum of Jazz, which is rather a shame - but having given Charlie a huge amount of pleasure, everything will now go on its way to please other people.

There was doubt about whether the Arctic Monkeys would appear as Alex Turner had laryngitis last week. The Foo Fighters were probably on standby to take their headline spot if necessary, but as it happened he recovered in time, so the Foo Fighters turned up in an unscheduled afternoon slot, thinly disguised as "The Churnups", got a rapturous reception, and were amazing. The Arctic Mo

What she will have to do is to prove beyond doubt that she has been resident in the UK for the past five years. This will mean submitting, as open-g says, bank statements, NHS records, utility bills, proof of her marriage etc. etc. - and she will need to list and account for every day that she hasn't been in the UK in the past five years, because to be "resident" you mustn't

Let's see how she gets on with proving, to the Home Office's satisfaction, that she has been resident in the UK for 74 years. It was certainly well publicised that EU citizens needed to apply for settled status, but she is not an EU citizen, so God only knows what the rules are. I think this has the potential to get political, so I'll just wish the lady all the luck in the

Around the early to mid 60s there was quite an explosion of blues talent in and around London, and in other British cities. Many of those musicians are still around and playing, and the more of them you hear, the more you realise how much it was a matter of luck (apart from a few truly outstanding people) whether they ended up in a band that was a huge international success, a moderate UK succes

QuoteMonicaDe Quotemicha063 I just watched this video again. I was there and it was such a f*ng great concert. Full of joy, happines, power, swing and Rock'n Roll. Absolutely great! Such an energy! Anyone knows how many km Mick does on the stage during each show? I have heard 12 miles (about 19 km) quoted - no idea how accurate that may be and it's probably less in recent years

It takes a really well trained crew of under-the-stage musicians to play exactly as unpredictably as Keith and Ronnie would if it was really them. How they manage to co-ordinate it all with the onstage moves is truly amazing.
