Quotemosthigh There's a bootleg called 'It's Only Goat's Head Soup' from 2006 which sounds pretty damn crisp to me, although I haven't heard every official release. In fact, this bootleg has a crystal clear sound - it's one of the best studio bootlegs I know. All the songs that are on the boot are clearer than the official released versions. I'm incre

QuoteMuddyw Well, with the exception of Mocambo there is no hope on a decent, well mixed and produced live album release. There is really something completely off on the sound and production, based on the samples on QoBuz. If you listen to Thru and Thru, the backup vox sound terrible (not the singing, only the sound), and the guitar by Keith sounds really recorded through an old radio without

What's on my mind concerning Mick Taylor? "Winter" – a song with three chords, a simple progression, D, A, E, What Mick Taylor gets out of this chord progression! Every note is right, even the quiet ones. Whenever I listen to this song, I'm almost overwhelmed! Yesterday was that time again. But don't forget, the magic of the song is also due to the great rhythm guitar of

Billy Preston was probably highly appreciated by the musicians he worked with because of his musicality and his friendly nature. Last but not least, "Get Back" was released under the artist name "The Beatles and Billy Preston".

QuoteMathijs QuoteDoxa A dream indeed, taken that the guitarist has retired years ago. But what goes for the three guitar concept, Keith also seemed to be initially thrilled about the idea, but afterwards came to the conclusion that it does not work. I take the latter mean that the arrangements, including the guitar parts and roles, of modern Stones shows are so carved in stone after so many to

His performances in 2013/14 were the highlights of the tour. Unaffected by this is the fact that Ronnie Wood was and is an indispensable part of the band. QuoteMuddyw Now let's hope it is mixed decent, like the Mocambo Live, and it won't sound anything like Live Licks or Four Flicks. There is something off on those. Yes, El Mocambo is mixed decent, but actually it deserves a brilliant mixing like Side 3 of Love You Live. It's a mystery to me why they didn't use the mixing template from the 70s. It corresponds much more to the

He was a member of the team that finished second at the 1966 World Cup, third at the 1970 World Cup and World Champion in 1974. He also won the European Championship with the team in 1972. And he wasn't just any player in this great team, he was the defining player. With a bit of luck, he could also have won the title in 1966 (irregular goal by England) and 1970 (refereeing error against Ita

I guess we will see and hear the rest of the HD-sessions and some actually new songs collected on a new album this or next year. But what I hope is a Blue and Lonesome II this year. The back catalogue of Blues classics is vast, and the interpretations of our band are almost always unique.

The song is simply musically weak, the lyrics another one of those countless odes to Yoko Ono from John's late period, George, Ringo and Paul couldn't do much more. What worked with Real Love and Free as a Bird went wrong here. One can only hope that this really was the last song from the Dakota Building with or without a humming fridge.

Clearly A Bigger Bang is the better album. I'm certainly in the minority here, but I consider ABB to be one of the Stones' best albums ever. I would put it at number 5 after the big four. It's cleanly produced on the one hand, but incredibly present, not artificially polished, the guitars slam out of the speakers, right into your face. The songs are diverse, varied, have contour an

Paul's contribution lifts the song, the idea with the distorted bass makes things interesting, although the song itself is rather much ado about nothing, a bit much boring noise.
