Just listened to a live version of this with the click track and it was horrible. Not life, a very robotic feel where Charlie is following perfect timing. It's crap and as a drummer is so obvious. Crank an earlier version and it makes later versions comical.

Sad x3 is simply a horrible song. Clearly Micks and an attempt at a modern rock song of its time. Very commercial and cold. Chuck Berry licks make no sense on this song style and it should be Ronnie's lead since he'd do something more suited. Poorly played chuck licks in the wrong key...I nominate as the worst solo by a professional musician in years.

Generally Steve is doing a good job from what I've watched. The snare sound is odd to me and not quite right to my ears. Very thud sounding with Steve's hard hitting and lacking snares and body. I thought Midnight Rambler was way off the mark. Tough song to play with the slower and faster tempo transitions. This highlights how well Keith and Charlie locked in which is critical to

Charlie's swing was how he plays the quarter notes and especially the kick drum downbeat. Those are the feel of the drums. Rigid is straight ahead almost computer like but the added swing is the space between the snare hits. the minute placing and pressure of those quarter notes makes all the difference. Eg, have a double kick in the beat, Charlie may emphasize the 2nd one and make the f

Steve is doing s great job. It's not quite the same but seems to have the band fired up. No doubt because a new drummer after 59 years is going to get the band on high alert. The extra focus translates to excitement as the tunes come together and the band sounds good. Super far from Wyman/watts groves. Listen to anything from the hay days and the rythmn has a feel and sound unlike t

The only reason the Stones still sounded like the Stones when Darryl replaced Bill was because Charlie was still driving the beat. You can't deny Darryl does not play or sound like Bill. How Charlie plays is the Stone's sound. Now you replace both and the rhythmic foundation of the Stones will now sound like a cover or tribute band with original members. Both Darryl and Steve

QuoteStonedAsiaExile QuoteMarkdog As a drummer I think Steve Jordan is a poor choice but likely the only choice if they don't want to postpone. He doesn't play like Charlie at all. Even playing the exact timing he runs on or slightly ahead of the beat, this doesn't allow a lot of groove in the feel of the drums. Snare accented mostly, down beat following quicker than it should to

Saw in theatre and was embarrassed. Soon as I saw Keith's strumming not match the guitar sound I was knew it was about entertainment, and it wasn't even entertaining.

There are only so many chords, guitar tones, vocal melodies, beats and sounds so rock and even music in general runs out of originality and finding the next great tune is harder and harder and even it sounds dirivadive.

All award shows only give out awards to white people when they absolutely have to now. Awards are BS anyway. It's not longer equality of opportunity, it's now equality of results which is pure communistic ideology. Saw a Canadian Military recruit commercial it was 50% black people which is totally fine. But blacks are 2% of the population. It wasn't big on the Asian, Indi

The Dirty Knobs - Wreckless Abandon released Nov 2020 has some great tunes. Check out title track, Pistol Packing Mama and Sugar are solid RNR. Mike Campbell sounds a lot like Petty too. The Empty Hearts - The Second Album Aug 2020. This "super" group really channels the 60s vibe with some catchy tunes. Nothing ground breaking but fun. Check out The World's Gone Insane.
