I love the rockin' rhythm piano on this, always have. When it was released, it always struck me as a little odd that the piano player wasn't credited. I just figured it was Stu, sounded like him to my ears. Years later I read somewhere it was Preston (maybe a book or magazine? maybe on Nico's website database? maybe both) Anyway, it certainly could be Billy.....but I wonder....

The photo of Alan Farst and Keith was taken in a first floor banquet room at the Hotel D'Angleterre in Copenhagen late afternoon on Monday, October 2, 2017. Alan doesn't smoke, that's actually Keith's cigarette in Alan's mouth - as a joke he took it from Keith and put it in his mouth. Keith thought it was hilarious. I know all of this because I took that photo. We had

I cut a track with Chuck Leavell in December, 2001 in Memphis - I did a cover of "Let It Rock", in the key of B - Chuck was gracious enough to play on it for me, live in the studio. In Copenhagen, 2017, I showed Ronnie my "Ooh La La" lick on an acoustic and he said he liked it. Does that count? Didn't think so. Fun though. Backstage at Wembley Stadium in August, 199

QuoteTheGreek Ok HMS here is a real question ready .Name the album and song where Chuck Leavell made his mark on a OFFICAL STUDIO album of the Rolling Stones that wowed the fans ? (not a concert on a tour ) I remember two particular instances in the past on one of these many tiresome "Chuck's no good, he sucks" threads that made me scratch my head and laugh. One time a regula

QuoteBluzDude Quotesouldoggie Are we able to buy a pit pass for one show only? I'd prefer to buy just for the Stones show and I'd prefer to watch the show from the Pit but I can't seem to find that option. Thanks in advance No. ....unless the promoter changes the options at sometime in the future. Thanks BluzDude, now I know.

QuoteHMS After 40 years as a working unit they would never offer full membership to somebody after three days of playing with him. The Stones are M, K, R, C - no one could or will ever join this exclusive club of old english gentlemen. I never thought that they are going to replace Wyman as "full band member", always thought they´d carry on with a "hired gun". Once there we

QuoteVideoJames Today Feb. 28 is the Birthday's of both Brian Jones & Giorgio Gomelsky. Yesterday I attended a memorial for my good friend Giorgio who passed away on January 13th. It was quite a nice memorial and many people spoke of his history in the U.K.and how he helped out many bands(Kinks/Stones/Who/Yardbirds/Animals and many more) He brought the Beatles to his club to see the Sto

And three days later Anita Pallenberg plotted and then succeeded in meeting Brain Jones, took him to her hotel room, offered up amyl nitrate and hash, and eventually became arguably one of the top 2 or 3 most significant and influential forces within The Rolling Stones. This first German tour ended up having such far reaching implications, personally and professionally, with the band in genera

Brian missed a series of shows on the second USA tour, November, 1964 This is about as unprofessional as you can get, I don't think Mick and Keith ever forgave him. Those guys were hungry and the band was still pretty much a second tier British Invasion band at the time. Brian stayed in Chicago, not performing the following four dates (five shows): 8th November: Chicago, Chess Studios.

He was not very pleasant that night. It might have been a bad day for him, but I don't think he had a very happy life by some of the comments made by his Dad. Stefan on the other hand was fun to be around. I s

QuoteTiminIndy QuoteTiminIndy I was wondering about the place and manner of the tour announcement, which will apparently be on Thursday, March 19th. In 1975, to announce Tour of the Americas, they came down 5th Avenue on a flatbed truck and played Brown Sugar. In 1989, for the Steel Wheels Tour announcement, they arrived in Grand Central Station by train in an antique caboose. When they an

When you draw a gun, you open a door. Through that door can come any number of things...many of them could be detrimental to your health. Lesson: don't draw a gun, especially while standing in the middle of hundreds of thousands of people.
