Quotetreaclefingers Quotematxil Quotepowerage78 Hackney Diamonds» des Rolling Stones : rock en toc. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood release a new album featuring a host of prestigious guests, causing quite a stir. There's plenty of noise. For the songs, we'll take a rain check. Ouch! Well...he calls Jimmy Fallon a journalist. Maybe he wasn't in on the joke and

QuoteGazza Quoterebelrebel Really like this song, the full version is much better than the edit. I wasn't particularly enthusiastic when I first heard that Gaga was a guest on this album but credit where it's due, she is just superb! This band is sounding better than they have done for decades, at least on the two songs I've heard so far. Journalists aside, how come some peop

QuoteLady Jayne Quotesnorton Love the video, I couldn't tell, was Bill or Brian ever shown in the video? Brian is completely written out - I noticed when they talked about "Live by the sword" having Bill and Charlie, one of them, Mick?, said 'the original line-up'. Bill is glimpsed in some of the video footage. But he didn't - he said the original rhythm section

QuoteHis Majesty I found it to be a bit of a hit piece on Brian's parents which was depressing. It seemed to lose a bit of steam mid way through as it lingered for too long about his love life. The Hendrix recording they played, 'Little One', doesn't feature Brian, but Dave Mason playing sitar. There were other clunkers, like they state Brian's parents never went to a

A great loss; both Sir Les and the Dame were brilliantly conceived and incredibly funny. To see both in one evening was a real treat. Truly a long and illustrious life - thank you Barry.

Only Buddy Guy and Taj Mahal spring to mind. Jeff Beck and Clapton were fine at the O2 shows as well but generally I don't think guests enhance their performance.

QuoteRip This ....chills.....anyone see Moonage DayDream?...I keep hearing the documentary is epic. I really loved it. It was on at my local cinema for two weeks and I saw it three times. Took a friend on one occasion who said he felt "assaulted" which was a reference to the fast moving collage of scenes so maybe it's not for everyone. For the diehard fan there is never seen bef

QuoteDoxa Interesting that back in 2013 Mick seemingly demanded that it was possible for GA to get near the stage. Didn't they change the areas in almost last minute or so (caused some heat here I recall). He seemingly wasn't pleased with the lame FOS audiences during the previous US arena tour and wanted to make sure that he will perform to enthusiastic crowd in Hyde Park. Are the p

Quotecaschimann Hey everybody, can you please give me an advice: Since so many years here are 2 Waldorf & Stadlers on our site driving me nuts with their always negative, destructive posts. Everything is bad, sad, wrong about the Stones. Everything was better in the past. Everything should be so or so. Written in an arrogant, teaching, all knowing way. As if they stand high above the band.

QuoteTopi Different opener? JJF? If they opened with JJF what would they close with? In the old days it would have been Brown Sugar but difficult to think of a replacement with the same impact now. SFM is the perfect opener and JJF the perfect closer so I hope they leave it as is.

Quoteno stone unturned TUBE strikes on this day announced now as well. NO TRAINS. NO UNDERGROUND TRAINS. I imagine a lot of cancellations for the show now as some people will be unable to get there or get home. I have a hotel booked near Hyde Park on the Friday and Saturday night so I’m one of the lucky ones although it’s cost me….though possibly still less that a taxi to and from Hyd

Quotejahisnotdead Quotecalipachangero its just another way of cashing in on memories from a generation who can't let go. That's hilarious coming from a Rolling Stones fan. At least Abba could finish their new album. Brilliant! And true.

QuoteTaylor1 Number 1, the Stones were not bloated in the early1970s.Exile and Sticky are 2of their best 4albums.Goat,IORR and Black nBlue were better than most groups could dream of with some great songs.1972-1973, they were at a peak live.If you listen to El Mocambo most of the songs have a lead/rhythm tandem, not two guitars , one sound, where you can’t tell if it’s Richards or Wood playing. On

I remember it as a fantastic year for me anyway. Seeing Bowie and the Spiders a couple of times on the last Ziggy outing, the Stones at Wembley Empire Pool, fantastic albums from the two of them and lots of other great stuff as already mentioned in this thread. Wasn't it also the year for Tubular Bells? Anyway, I liked Brain Salad Surgery!

QuotePaddy After watching Get Back, I decided to reread Glyn John’s book “Soundman” (a lot of inaccuracies in it, some lies.....) But the following is on page 125, describing recording the rock n roll circus. “I was in my booth, way up in the gods, recording the sound for the show, and the area on set where they were playing was obscured from my view. All was going well until I heard this
