In 2004 David Gilmour and Ronnie Wood both played at the "Strat Pack" concert at wembley arena. David Gilmour had a short solo during Stay with me. On the broadcast it was mixed out of the audio!

I love this band and the album! I was really lucky and was able to see the original line up (twice) at there 40th anniversary gigs and again once more without Buffin. I literally learned how to play rock piano by ripping off Verden Allen (i know he isn't on this album!).

Bernie was such a nice guy. I was lucky enough to play with him and he was incredible generous and complimentary. He made you feel good in you playing and was quite passe of his own abilities. His behaviour and playing was a big push for me as a musician and I am very sorry to here he has passed. Also who else calmly lets you play there '59 Les Paul!

Having now been able to see the end of the gig and other parts from another view I am disappointed. I thought that Paul Schaffer soloed while playing the bass part! Turns out it was the other piano player doing the left hand. I spent years learning to play both parts and have driven myself insane!!!

I was also there. I prefered the first act to the second. James Burton played through the whole first act. He stood for the first couple of songs before sitting for the rest. Brian May seemed to get the biggest reaction from the crowd and seemed to be amazed that he was playing with Burton (again). Ronnie Wood was a bit of a hanger on for the first few songs but when he came back during the Van M

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Quote spikenyc Besides Jimmy Page not present, where was Jeff's favorite bass player Tal Wakenfled? Was wondering the same… Jan Hammer was also absent. Also a bit surprised that Batten wasn't on the bill. Joe Perry was on the bill but absent, but Kirk Hammett was there which was a surprise to me!!

Caught them when they played the Albert Hall in 2011 and then at the Ginger Baker tribute in 2020. They both play so well together after all this time!

QuoteMadMax They got a shit manager telling them to play European arenas during july 2007. Only Stones can get away with that during the Summer holidays. The Who should do like Dylan, perform autumn/spring Bill Curbishly a shit manager? Really? Why is he so bad. I was on the summer '07 Who tour. The tickets sales were quite strong, especially given that they hadn't toured some parts

QuoteDoxa QuoteThe Joker I follow you here Spud, and also thank TravelinMan to share this knowledge in a understandable way. « One of the things I find hilarious is producers trying to create the perfect drum performance from an actual drummer by replacing the drum hits with samples and pocketing every hit to be perfectly on the grid » Sounds like it would kill the famous « delayed », « behi

QuoteBig Al QuoteRisingStone Quotefzv98d Eric just announced a New Year's Eve Show in Woking, England. Yep. The first time in ten years (last time 2012). This time in memory of the late Gary Brooker. These are his famous - or shall, we say infamous! - New Years Eve shows’ where no alcohol is permitted! Still, there’s pubs nearby, one would imagine. Finally i know where to get a tic

QuoteTopi They started at 4:30 PM UK and ended just before 10:30 PM (curfew). Almost 6 hours. I was there, this is correct. Great evening! It was special to see Brian May and Geddy Lee pay tribute to Taylor Hawkins while also paying tribute to there own bandmate. To me it felt like the importance of family was a theme to the gig. Violet and Dave Grohl performing together, Josh Homme'

Oh sorry Hairball, my mistake, hope your friend gets well soon and others that may have caught it at the show, i really thought covid had passed into something less worrisome by now. Covid is a form of cold/flu. The variant that was prominent

Very saddened to hear about Alec John Such's passing. When I was 17-20 Bon Jovi were a big favourite of mine (still are) and as a musician I stole at lot from each of them. I was doing my degree in music as a mature student when they were inducted into the Rock hall of fame. Having never seen Alec with the band I made the trip from the UK to watch there induction. I paid for it on a credit c

Pink Floyd are due to release a new track tomorrow in support of Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief. The song recording on the 30th March reunites David Gilmour and Nick Mason with touring bassist Guy Pratt. Nitin Sawhney performs keyboards. Boombox singer Andriy Khlyvnyuk sings lead vocals which were taken from an instagram post he made of him singing the Ukrainian folk song 'Oh, The Red Viburnu

I saw a thread earlier looking for fans in LA with a view to playing. Is there anyone based in/around London who would be interested in getting together to play. Ideally with a view to doing a gig towards the end of the year for charity at the Half moon. I can cover the piano/organ/keys parts.

As much as I dislike the comments that he made at that gig, I feel that he should be measured on his actions not his words. He has historically championed music by "black" artists, has regularly had coloured band members (collaborating with some since the 60's) and has worked in supporting work in countries considered "black". I doubt there are any of us who haven't

Thanks for the help. Its not Long live rock and roll! It is a song only performed twice. Its a real oddity! I have a suspicion that a recording may not exist. In 1979 The Who played a few songs that were never subsequently released and not necessarily bootlegged.
