QuoteTopi That 2014 Waldbühne photo of paulywaul and with sssoul reminded me of how hot that June day was as we lined up at the gates from early morning. with sssoul had brought a Ziploc full of ice cubes from her hotel, I wanna say it was the Adlon Kempinski, and she shared some of that ice so people could get at least a bit of a relief from the scorching heat. O my goodness, the memories ! Running like crazy on her behalf at the Hyde Park show in 2013 to secure the all-important place at the rail on Keith's side, running down those insanely steep steps at the Waldebühne in 2014 to do the same, and there were others which I can't rightly recall right now. If I got a venue or date wrong, the Rolling Stones Department Of Historical Accuracy w

QuoteManofwealthandtaste QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Wonder if Ronnie and any of the others will be at the Teenage Cancer Trust shows at RAH on March 18/20. Fingers crossed… I would say the most likely date for a Ronnie guest appearance would be the 24th March. 'Ovation' - Roger's farewell to 24 years of TCT shows at the Albert Hall. Yup, that would make sense I guess .....

Quoteemotionalbarbecue At this point in the movie, they don't need recognition, right? That is the proverbial bottom line, yes indeed ! Do they (or we) need any further affirmation of their greatness, in the form of yet another dumb award of some sort ? Nope, none at all. It might be nice for their egos (individually or collectively) to get some form of recognition in the year 2024, m

QuoteSomeGuy The two-disc To The Bone is indeed a great record to go out with. In the liner notes, however, Ray writes about songs that would turn up on future Kinks releases. They never did of course. I get the impression that the reunion rumours always start to float about when they have some record to sell, be it an expanded reissue, a solo record or a compilation. This has been the template

Quotefrenki09 Oh, Dave! Glad he is till with us. He did well on his solo albums. I often play 'em. He seems like a lovely bloke, probably more open minded than Ray. Happy B-day to him! It is unfortunately over for the Kinks. To The Bone is one of the most enjoyable live albums out there. If one is to be realistic, then yes - sadly it is ! This is one of several regrets I ha

The WHO are playing on Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th March at the RAH, their usual contribution to the Teenage Cancer Trust week that is a yearly occurence at the RAH. I noticed it said "with orchestra", so if I had to guess, they might be similar shows to what we got last year. And those were brilliant. I caught them in Berlin & in London. The WHO never seem to disappoint, don&
