Regarding Midnight Rambler having worn out or tarnished without Charlie’s drumming, the subtle nuances he delivered etc. — that doesn’t bother me, this more than casual but less than hardcore fan, that much TBHWY. My first show sans Charlie, Hyde Park 2022 #1, was one of the greatest RS shows I had ever attended. Steve’s ‘power drumming’ certainly worked under those circumstances.

Quotesyrel But I agree - the setlist just took a notable turn for the worse. (Don't want to start an argument/spoil anyone's fun, but I lost a lot of enthusiasm I had for the tour with that rehearsal list.) Yeah, me too. The HD songs are not enough to save the day — even if they were more than four on offer. As for warhorses, I’d take MR over MY, YCAGWYW and Satisfaction any day.

QuoteDiegoGlimmerStones Very cool setlist tonight Looks like a near definitive, run through version. The selections from HD — Angry, WWW, TMS and SSOH — are exactly the same as my prediction.

QuoteIrix QuoteRisingStone I remember BV referring to a possible Euro tour in this year. Looks like postponed to 2025: "In 2025, probably also in Austria again. The plans for a last-minute tour of European stadiums in the autumn have now been scrapped: Jagger and Co. are now focussing on the summer season and have their sights set on the Happel Stadium again." So you are already there. Passion and enthusiasm…indeed. YCAGWYW rehearsed, after all. Hopefully the new setlist won’t be another warhorsefest (I’m not holding my breath, though).

One thing I noticed is none of the reports of the rehearsed songs so far have listed YCAGWYW. Taken over by SSOH perhaps? Good sign if true. Still too many usual suspects. I wish they nixed MY as well.

Let me quote my own post from a while back: Quote Re: Track Talk: Anybody Seen My Baby? Posted by: RisingStone () Date: March 29, 2023 05:14 Along with Love Is Strong, people often claim Anybody Seen My Baby is one song that doesn’t work live. Regardless, I enjoyed both when they played them on stage, and hope they will revive them on the future performances. And Mixed Emotions, Rough J

QuoteDoxa QuoteRisingStone Apart from the HD songs, all familiar selections. Too early to whine about the setlist, I know, but it doesn’t look that promising. Predictably so, in a way. Sorry to be a buzz killer. What this list lacks is a deep cut or obscure song from the past, another Out Of Time. I almost mistook WILD HORSES as WARHORSES lol. ' Maybe that's the cost of playing ne

QuoteTopi Quotemarclaff Quoted - Gimmie Shelter incl. intro multiple times GS as openning song ? The "intro" here obviously means the Gimme Shelter intro. Since Chanel Haynes is new, it's no wonder they are going over that song - and its intro - multiple times. I also noticed that myself. Gimme Shelter as the opener is my wishful thinking, given Keith’s stiff-y fingers for t

Quote Re: All the casual fans Posted by: RisingStone () Date: June 2, 2022 20:52 Personally I’d be curious what it would be like if they start the show with Gimme Shelter. It doesn’t work, the opener should be fast tempo and go with a bang, you may say? Basically yes — however, as an attempt to deviate from the norm, it might be interesting to see the band gradually building up the heat and t

As far as I remember, I have rarely, perhaps never, interacted with her on this board. Unlike Hairball who made his strong presence felt until the sudden, untimely passing last year, sssoul faded away — her last post here was a brief message of condolence to Terry Hall on December 20, 2022. She never commented on Hackney Diamonds. That makes me feel even more sad and wonder what happened to this

Another supergroup that failed to fulfill the promised potential. However, their one-off album has stood the test of time despite the largely disappointing voices that greeted it when it was released. Eric’s initial intention of forming Blind Faith was the English version of The Band, so to speak, with emphasis on the organic music rather than the fierce interplay between virtuoso players a la

Been to and back from the aforementioned Wilco gig. They were ASTONISHING. They smashed it and tore the house down. So brilliant. Absolutely. I saw them once long time ago, in 2010, but had somehow forgotten what an incredible band they were. Nels Cline is an underrated axeman who deserves more credit to him. So original. He turned the guitar into a magic wand.
