I took my 8-year-old daughter to the Orlando show in June. It was largely for historical purposes (it was way too loud for her). When I was 10 my father took me to see Elvis in Duluth, Minnesota a few months before Elvis died. I'm now 49 and all my life I have been able to say I saw Elvis live. Not many people can make that claim. I want my daughter to be able to say the same thing about th

Now granted, I have not been in my car all day listening to Sirius radio, but when I have been driving I have heard three Rolling Stones songs: Gimme Shelter, Stupid Girl and Angry.

For what it's worth: I jumped into my car this morning, turned on my Sirius radio, flipped the channels around, and the first Rolling Stones song I heard was ... Gimme Shelter.

QuoteStonedRambler This was no "interview", this was a promo show hosted by Jimmy Fallon. And nothing wrong about that. Interview, promo, whatever you want to call it, he had one job. And that was to not make any attempt to insert himself and just get the hell out of the way. The Stones are the stars, among the biggest in the history of music. Their cultural and musical impact on

What a shame. This could be the last time the three Stones sit together for an interview, and the person conducting it is a buffoon like Jimmy Fallon? Too bad he couldn't take a cue from the Tonight Show master, Johnny Carson. The Stones are the stars. Jimmy Fallon is a hack. Not one person gives a damn about what Jimmy Fallon has to say. So ask your (lame) question and get the hell o

QuoteCongratulations QuoteChester Elvis, 1977 How was that? I can imagine a combination of excitement and sadness... Saw him in Duluth, Mn. April 29, 1977. I was 11 years old. I'm 56 now. My parents are huge fans and they had an extra ticket, so I went. I remember a lot about it, even the clothes I wore. I've heard the soundboard, and he sounded surprisingly well on songs that d

I saw him in concert in April, 1977, four months before he died. I was in fifth grade, and still remember it well. The soundboard is on YouTube, and for that stage in his life he sounded pretty good. I am 56 now, and to this day I have never met anyone else who saw him live. My dad took me, in Duluth, Minn. And because of that, I took both of my twin daughters to see the Stones and

Is it amusing to anyone else on here that the Rolling Stones - the actual band, the Rolling Stones! - are currently on tour celebrating 60 years and there is an honest-to-goodness thread about a brief encounter between Mick Jagger and the Fonz? Aaaayyy Shudder to think what people are going to talk about when the Stones finally shut it all down.

Just curious: Has anyone on this board ever seen the real Elvis in concert? My dad took me to see him on April 29, 1977, in Duluth, Minn. I was in fifth grade. I remember it well, and still talk about it. I listen to the soundboard on YouTube every once in a while and the show sounded surprisingly good, considering he was four months away from his death. I still say the 1968 Comeback Special was one of the greatest performances of all-time. Maybe the greatest. Also, no human being - male or female - ever looked better than he did at that moment in time.

Was really looking forward to hearing 19th in Tampa, as it was sounding like one of the tour highlight songs on videos. Instead, it was the only city where it wasn't played. Anyone have any thoughts as to why? Oh well, at least we got SSS.
