I guess just a preference sentimental favorite is Ya-Ya's best is Brussels 1973 and while not as supercharged as Brussels, I've always like L.A.Friday as a personal favorite When anyone asks me which is best, I usually go for the most intense version and while our favorite band are in their last years, this song is 99% always the song that is the highlight, no matter how lackluste

Yes "Stand In The Fire" is a great live album! A very rocking band and was rereleased not long ago with bonus tracks. I don't have all of his albums; a couple favorite tracks though are from his album called "Life'11 Kill Ya" "I Was In The House When The House Burned Down" and a cover of Steve Winwood's "Back In The High Life Again" t

I wonder if there could be a rights issue or label issue with the time period 1985-1986/7 that started right after Empire Burlesque? Starting with Band of the Hand and Farm Aid and the 2 tours with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers? Surely it could be negotiated easily enough to compensate the band no matter where all the "rights" belong to?

I agree on the Brussels '73 being THE tightest and razor sharp Rambler version ever! There are not many live performances by anyone in the same ballpark. I have a real sentimental attachment to the L.A. Friday version. It was my first bootleg! Brand new member little Ronnie Wood playin' his ass off! Not as tight as Brussels; more riffing than weaving but I think it's the best

Hi Plexi I saw the Who first show at Winterland in 76 and also the Day on the Green with the Dead later in October. They were great both times, with the Winterland show obviously better just because the intensity of being with only 5000, which would be considered almost a club show today! ha Unfortunately, we were way off to the left side of the stage in the balcony, so the sound was not the be

Thanks for the reply. I was just thinking about most of the Wolfgang and Bill Graham related stuff was on video tape; I hadn't gone back to see what I could find on the '72 tour to see what info was available as far as shows filmed. I just cannot remember ever hearing that this show was filmed and/or how many others on this tour were besides NYC. Do you remember what the source was for

Yes I was fortunate enough to have seen The Who, ELO, Little Feat and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers at Winterland, and have seen a lot of footage released on Wolfgang's vault over the years. I always thought Bill Graham might have had footage of the Stone's performances there, but always figured the Stones had tighter control or it was a gentlemen's agreement maybe to never mak

A couple of months ago the Pittsburgh '72 footage and now this Winterland footage.... have these been in private collectors hands for years and now just popping up out of nowhere, or is it possible this is because '72 and '73 footage is being worked on for a possible 50th anniversary box? Might we finally be getting some new soundboards long collecting dust in the vaults?

The studio version is perfection! No live version will ever better it, same as "Brown Sugar." Maybe someone call help me with the quote I remember from Keith from long ago where he said something to the effect about the sound he was after was like things were about to go off the rails but did not. Controlled chaos? So in that vein, while not the best live version; one of my favorites,

Thank you for fast reply! Yes I do not want to be a pain for you or anybody! Thanks again for your great work! You should be working for the band! Maybe eventually they will offer these kind of things as downloads to save themselves the money of producing covers and other physical products. Seems like it wouldn't cost them much and people like us would gladly pay for this kind of stuff!

Thank you StonyRoad for all of your hard work! Have loved all of the boxes I have been able to get so far! I see on the Some Girls 077 you said "Please don't ask for a repost" and I missed it. Is there a directory by label so if you listed it in all of your posts like I have seen for Post label / Publisher.... I have searched for Frankenstein and FP but could not find one. If

I hardly ever post and I've enjoyed many of you regular posters for years! I just watched all 4 of those clips and something jumped out at me and I am wondering if I am missing something. All 4 of those clips are upbeat with a relatively fast tempo and they all have plenty of GUITARS! AND... They all sound like a.....ready? Rock N Roll album! I have loved this band since 1968 when

Agree "Lies" is the weakest track. The version on Passaic NJ Capital Theatre is slowed down but to me, has a different kind of punk energy. My favorite, and I think the best version of the song. There are a couple of early studio takes of it that remind me of the early "Steel Wheels" tracks. Way better and more raw without the final layers of production.

WOW!!! So cool to see this! I was there that day! This was actually my second Rolling Stones concert, the first being 3 days earlier in Anaheim, as initially, there was not going to be a Bay Area show at all. The time in between the last opening band and the Stones was nearly 2 hours and the crowd was getting restless!(we later heard due to happy birthday Mick partying backstage). See
