Saw Lou and the band yesterday in Bern, Switzerland. Absolute stunning sound, and very impressive guitarwork by both Doug and Marc. Doug played mostly on a Tele, lots of rhythm-playing, and wonderful pedalsteel, while Marc played a LP-Type guitar, many solos, and also cool slide licks and solos. On some songs they soloed together, reaching absolute highs (eg Joy) I love two-guitar bands ! And Lo

...Teenage Head is listed in the 2006 book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Mick Jagger compared the album favorably to the Rolling Stones' contemporaneous Sticky Fingers.Jagger reportedly thought the Flamin' Groovies did the better take on the theme of classic blues and rock 'n roll revisited in an early 1970s context. ) so Mick Jagger knew the Flamin' Groovies

But what fun to try and find everything through the years! it WAS a terrible mess to figure out all the songs and at the same time buy the least amount of superfluous records back in the early sseventies, without internet, without books, wit

QuoteWuudy I imagine it was epic of course but how was the quality of the show looking back on it? I'm asking this because years ago I heard a bootleg of the first Stones show I attended and it sounded very different then how I remembered it. This is of course because I was blown away by the experience. It was the first time I saw the Stones live, and it was very impressive. The sound,

QuoteHis Majesty Let's get this back to Brian and music. The intent of these demonstrations is to highlight Brian's contributions and to allow people who may or may not know what Brian played to see and/or hear what he played, the type of instrument he used, and to give an idea of how he played it. They hopefully help people to be able to pick out Brian's parts more easily wh

It's not the bass that makes the first version above a bit boring, mainstream rock. It's the guitars and the lead vocals that miss groove and sexappeal ... so don't blame Darryl (alone) resotele

calipachangero, I am not Wanja Riffkeef, I think that it is almost impossible to play the qualifiing games in a foreign stadium (you have to stick to the chosen stadium for the whole competition); your proposals (Biel and Neufeld) don't offer the capacity needed, and I don't know if Neufeld (this is an old, small stadium in Bern) is accepted by UEFA. resotele

the disapointment is still there, partly because the Stones wouldn't agree on a end of june date, partly because those suckers at Young Boys Bern really should have acomodated the August date. Very lame effort. Young Boys Bern is not just a small football club. They were, from 2018 on, four times in a row swiss champion, the played the UEFA Champions League, they play in a stadium with a

I think that june 29, as mentionned before, would work for the football club and the stadium; the team is away for some days, in Gstaad, and plays a match there on 28. So it would be up to the Stones to do the show between the two Hyde Park Shows. Come on boys, this should be possible ... resotele
