Yeah, how about dissecting all of about five guitars in Tumbling Dice? I still don’t know which one Jagger purportedly plays. Here’s the instrumental to get you started:

Are we sure Stu is in there? I'll have to listen again, but I just heard a wall of guitars the first couple times.

Quotesaltoftheearth QuoteTIRED Not sure this has been discussed in this forum already... There was a Stones release of STAR STAR some years ago in which the part "keep your pussy clean" was overdubbed in such a way that the words could hardly be heard. Can we expect the same mutilation in the new GHS release? What's the general opinion on such alterations of past Stones

No, and I’m still kicking myself for not going in 2013 thinking he’d be back on the next North American tour closer to home. My pops saw them in 1969 and is still kicking himself for not going in ‘72. Like father like son.

@#$%& is a great song about groupies, which sort of set the whole theme of Some Girls. Regardless of their age when they wrote it, it’s a kick ass song that touched on subject matter they hadn’t covered yet.

Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 Look what they did with some of the tracks on the Exile reissue it is obvious that things were changed for us to believe they were from Exile when in fact they were not. I agree with everything you said except this. What was changed? Jagger was pretty open about putting new vocals and guitars on some of the tracks. Half of Exile was recorded (at least the backing track

Bill Wyman is listed as vocals and bass on Criss Cross. Then they attribute vocals to the bassist on Scarlet. Common theme? My theory to the Exile reissue is that they looked at the original credits where the band members are listed on their respective instruments and just attributed it blindly to each song. Don Was had access to everything, so the new songs seem correct on the Exile reiss

I feel like some of his inflections on the first verse sound modern. He doesn’t sound at all like the Exile reissue though, and I don’t think that has to do with technology.

Quotetomcasagranda Nobody seems to mention his avant-garde improvisational album, End of The Game; it's a gem. Likewise, there's a preoccupation that he disappeared off the radar after Fleetwood Mac's Then Play On (1969-1970). That's totally untrue; he did some rather wonderful albums from 1979-1983, and then resumed with the Splinter Group in the late 90s. He still made so

Quotejbwelda Then Play On and Kiln House were Fleetwood Mac at their finest, imo. Peter Green, Danny Kirwin, Jeremy Spencer were a powerhouse, even though Green didn't play on Kiln House, it seemed like it contained his spirit. I caught them before Then Play On came out, they were playing a lot of that material. I forget exactly when this was but at this little dive in Sacramento calle

QuoteWorriedAboutYou Man the greats really are are leaving us now, it really brings things into focus when you hear about such legends passing. Peter Green has always been this mythical, monolithic talent that shaped the sound of British rock music and influenced countless, endless bands in his wake. Peter was an exceptionally emotive, tasteful and distinctive player, his passing is a huge loss a

QuoteJordyLicks96 Well we know for sure he recently added an acoustic guitar and maracas to the song but the fact the vocals are so hard to tell if they're from '74 or now is simply put amazing. QuoteDoxa Actually I was already amazed with "Criss Cross" - that of 'old' Mick dueting with 'young' Mick, and the biggest evidence for seperating the two came from knowing the old out-takes not having certain passages at all... - Doxa See, that's the key though.
