At some point in (early, I think?) 1979 at the ripe old age of 13, I bought 2 boot LPs on Excitable Records from the Purple Prism, a wacky, Beatle-heavy head shop at 357 King Street, Charleston, SC: 1. East and West (a knock-off of Brussels Affair); and 2. In Again Out Again, a 1LP piece from the 1978 Tour Within hours, I was hooked on Stones' live vinyl to where I now had performance

I have spent 45 years putting together (I have been told) among the most complete US collections, bar none, be it LP and 45 with all sleeves, promos, and most variations from 1963-2016. I also have some really insane UK items. Many items I picked up at quite modest (for now) prices back 40-30-20 years ago, while some items I got as a steal, and some I paid well for. How much do I have in it? N

QuoteDiamondDog7 QuoteElmo Lewis "Hang Fire" and "Slave" were 2 that seemed like let downs to me, now I really like "Slave" and think "Hang Fire" is better (than before, not better than "Slave"). O, I still really dislike Hang Fire so much. I can't stand that song!! LOL Diamond Dog, I dig your vibe on Hang Fire - loathed it in 1981 and s

I know many here (rightfully!) revere Bill Wyman's incredible work on 19th Nervous Breakdown, for my money, the top bass work on any Stones song is ...... Jigsaw Puzzle Slap on some phones, and play this record L-O-U-D! Bill Wyman is on fire! What is your choice for best bass work in a Stones' song?

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Because so many of you are fans, I watched the SNL clip before commenting. And he was better than I expected. But not good enough to forgive him for what he did to Loving Cup in Shine A Light. I dug him on Loving Cup as one of the highlights of the LP. What did he do that so offended you?

I don't know Rush Limbaugh as a person, so I cannot comment on him. I first heard him over 30 years ago, and I loathed his elitist, racist rhetoric. Since then, despite that it makes me wretch, I occasionally give him 5-10 minutes to be able to say this - I HATE HIS RHETORIC and WISH I COULD SUPERGLUE HIS LIPS TOGETHER!!!!!

Was there ever any (credible) data that Brian ever dabbled with using heroin which, by 68, became a choice drug of so many British rock stars within and around the Stones?

I've seen a fair amount of Mick interviews from 68 and 69. How about the other band members from 68 & 69? Anyone got any links they can share? Thanks to all!

I have taken the time to watch this film, and I'd like to share a few thoughts: 1. That there is no Stones' music therein is noteworthy. Either the band did not want anything to do with this, or, the focus was deliberately elsewhere. Had there been Stones' music, to me, the story line would have been more credible. 2. Stash and Sam Cutler were the takeaways from this, and th

Beggars Banquet is it for me. With incredible drumming on trax like: Sympathy for the Devil Street Fighting Man Stray Cat Blues and Jigsaw Puzzle I am hard pressed to find anything better. Sure, Charlie Watts never has a bad day, never a missed lick, and is always recorded at the top of his game, and his drumming on Some Girls, Emotional Rescue, and earlier LPs like Exile and Goats

While Coming Down Again sounds like what it is - a junkie ballad from a guy too wasted to care, people who matter (the Stones) deemed it worthy to be on GHS back when. I wish they had put Chris Cross Man on GHS instead of CDA, but they didn't ask me. (Imagine that?) As for All the Rage, it's no more a GHS song that the Exile "remake" trax like Plundered and Dancing in the

QuoteHairball Quoteswitchblade1975 QuoteStoneage I don't follow you there, Stonesstein. Surely, the longest RS tour break in the USA is between 1981 and 1989. I believe that you are 100% right. I'd really love to say that I threw that out there to see if anyone was really paying attention, but, alas, that wouldn't be true. I missed it. Flat missed it. Thanks to y'all

a track not worthy of being sought out, but if it happens to come on in rotation or at random, then just good enough no to change it. Saw it live in 1989, and it was not much better. Like most of his live product since 2002, Keith's just massacred it.

As a US lawyer, a SCOTUS justice is always worthy of incredible respect. RBG followed her own sense of justice in tackling some of the biggest issues in her 27 years on the Court. I cannot say that I agreed with her opinions more than not, as she had moments where she would surprise us all. It's a shame that she was so politically maligned, because she had more class in one toe than h

Quotetreaclefingers Quotestonesstein As for the GYYO and RnRC deluxe sets, more live stuff from pre-81 is always welcome. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the band did not do / has not done like Pearl Jam and sell recordings of its own shows right after each gig. This is a fun song to which to listen, though I must admit that I do not enjoy Jagger's "late period" vocal style of sharp enunciations as much as I enjoy the style of the 70s and even those up thru ABB. Still, it's nice to hear another unreleased track from 1972-1973, and we'll always be happy to get whatever table scraps the band will toss us, right? This song sou
