Gas Light Street has it down. Basically, streaming equals Muzak or whatever services shops used to pipe in music. Really like the new album, by the way. How I listen is I added all the tracks to my self-curated Stones playlist on my iPad, and the new ones all hold up in their own way between the classics.

Cool. I hung out with Darryl at a Big Audio Dynamite reunion gig in Los Angeles. He was extremely friendly and gregarious. He came because he was a fan of the band and of their bassist Leo Williams in particular.

I think it’s KR playing the slide in the left channel on Depending on You. Sounds a lot like his playing on Beggars and Let it Bleed. Not so much like Ronnie’s.

Quotedcba Quotebitusa2012 I agree re any reggae tune. It’s the only genre of music they’ve played/had on albums that I feel they don’t genuinely inhabit. When they do Soul, they ARE a soul band. When they do the Blues, they ARE a blues band. When they do Country, they ARE a country band etc. They seem to inhabit that genre. But to me, when they do Reggae, they’re nice, but they’re imposters.

QuoteStonedRambler YouTube credits do not say Sam Wheat but Declan Gaffney. Did Sam Wheat got kicked finally? Still Mazed Murad as a mastering engineer though. Declan is an excellent mixer. He has worked on a few projects with my friend Mick Jones. Hopefully this Stones live one will be better off for his participation.

I was in the studio (Ocean Way) when the Stones recorded the backing track for Flip the Switch. It was one of those KR preferred writng methods. He had the riff. No words. They jammed on it for hours, as a live band, and the last take was many minutes long, maybe seven. Jagger played harmonica. No bass player. It sounded fantastic. Just like the Rolling Stones. The final version isn’t as exciting

QuoteKRiffhard Quoterollmops Quotepowerage78 Good song, Mick writting work with a recognizable and brilliant Keith contribution. Mick always prolific and active... But Keith today ? Is he still able - does he still want - to compose a Stones song ? It seems that nowadays, Keith needs some strong support from his co-partners to motivate him to create something "new". He said it hi

Quotegotdablouse Didn't remember that Jagger quote, it's too bad we never heard from that "super fan" who dug out that stuff for them...I can't make sense of that reference to BBKing ?! Kenny Kubernik, brother of music journalist Harvey Kubernik, and a very nice guy. He was helping Don Was trawl for material.

I was there and they played MR. It was a surprise when they came back out because it was well understood at the time that the Stones didn't do encores.

No, January 1973 in New York was with the Tots at Alice Tully Hall. Lou fired the Tots a couple of months later and toured for a bit with the Moogy Klingman Band as backup. December 1973 in New York at the Academy of Music was with Hunter and Wagner.

QuoteRocky Dijon I could be completely wrong and Mick's lyrics and his (and Lisa and Cindy's) vocals may be the only new elements apart from the strings. The piano sounded more "new" than vintage to me which was why I questioned it. I'm not sure a mellotron was used (I rather doubt it) since David Campbell is credited on the album for strings. Same gentleman who arranged

I’d expect the Bob Clearmountain mix of Brussels, as it hasn’t been released on physical media outside Japan I would doubt they’d remix other live material. Aside from the alternate versions of album tracks, I’d hope at minimum for Criss Cross, Fast Talking and You Should Have Seen Her. Perhaps Mick has done new vocals for the last two. I should think this would make for a more commercial package

“Meetings.” Wow. One used to call it recording, or rehearsals, or being in the studio. Maybe they should bring their lawyers to these meetings, in some conference room, to help negotiate the direction of the album. Or maybe Mick is just so Hollywood these days that he talks in terms of meetings. Cracks me up.

What about "One More Shot" solo version? Imo it could have been the first single of CH and i feel it's far superior to Stones version!! I’ve unfortunately never heard it myself so I don’t k
