These are not the 69rstrax releases. Even though they surface in 2019 after the New Year's releases they are different. Clearly there is no 'chorusing' and low resolution from the poor quality and notch filtering required to remove the noise glitching. These first surfaced on 'no label' as "Day 1" and "Day 2", then on Moonchild as "In Con

Please Note: I have modified my thinking on Stray Cat Blues and Baltimore based on a recording that became available after my work listening to the music and transcribing the vocals to place the sources based on audience recordings. So, Stray Cat Blues is: MSG 11/28/69 1st Show by process of elimination. Thanks as always for the feedback, Chris M.

Part One: Tattoo You "40th Anniversary" edition bonus CD is very interesting and entertaining: Living in the Heart of Love - First surfaced around 1981 on the LP titled "Lonely at the Top" with the title "Living is a Harder World' and later "Living is a Harder Love'. The LP was a fantastic outtake compilation and one of the 'must haves' of

His collecting was very much in line with his profession (archeologist). One way he would find the rare vinyl variations was by canvassing thrift stores. If you have ever tried doing this, it takes a great amount diligence because there are lots of dead ends before getting to the rare find. He used to say “this one is rare as ‘hens teeth’”. I had never heard that before and that was JR being enth

I've heard some of the performances including soundboard tracks. IMHO: It's different to me, not bad just different. You know there is that signature slight delay of the drum beat following the guitar and the swing style that added to the feel of music. I feel a loss and I'm still saddened by his passing.

This is really surprising. Very sorry to learn of this. I connected with JR through the Undercover mailing list in the 90’s. We would talk on the phone, email and trade records. He had great knowledge of rare titles and variations in the commercial releases. Too soon, for sure. Chris M.

This source started it's underground life on the 'smoking pig' edition of Trade Mark of Quality, so 'Ken' got the tape somehow. Maybe it will come out in the new TMQ book due in September...

He is a very 'out front' drummer as can be heard on the Wino's recordings. Very interesting sounds, but curious about the style changes that might be incorporated in to the Rolling Stones set-list. Very interactive in the studio as can be heard in the lost Wino's track: 'Albert King Blues'

The Barbados DATS (digital audio tape) are 1994 Voodoo Lounge tracks: You Got Me Rocking - Keith on vocal like many of the early Voodoo Lounge track takes. Don't Want Somebody Else - This is an MJ falsetto with drum machine and him sitting on a stool with a Fender guitar. He puts his demos down this way. Darryl or Ronnie on bass as he calls out a chord change. Same as the Voodoo Bre

Wow, dear Stones friends. So happy to see the rollingstones.net research still referenced. Vocals were the first and most obvious comparison against audience and movie recordings. Musically, I looked for unique 'sound markers' like 'feedback' or 'throwback' as MJ would say. Note-by-note and bar-by-bar analysis is really a challenge. Don't forget t

Jagger picked those specific Wembley versions for the King Biscuit Flower Hour (KBFH) Broadcasts beginning in September 1974. These would be found later on on the epic 'Bedspring Symphony' in 1975. The great live performances. Chris M.
