Quotebuffalo7478 With Todd, expect the unexpected. Everything from blue-eyed soul to rock to prog to experimental and currently electronic dance music. He worked producing The Tubes, Psychedelic Furs, XTC and many others. His live shows can be completely different from one tour to another...not just setlist, but genre. Yes indeed. He can change like a chameleon from album to album, tour

QuoteDandelionPowderman Let's move on to Taylor. How about that solo album with great songs and a really good band? I'd like to hear that. Taylor getting the space he needs to express himself properly. Good time for a followup to Stones Throw. In the model of the last few Jeff Beck albums where they get a guest vocalist or two to sing for 2-3 of the songs. Then half of his album cou

QuoteFunxionalJunkie Great time, fun crowd. Weird seeing them without Bobby for the first time. Yeah, that's gonna hit me hard, when I think about it. It's not like other tours he wasn't on, where you knew he was still alive out there somewhere. I almost hope I don't get to hear CYHMK, and will probably get choked up rather than jubilant during the sax solo on BS.

Since the last US tour was mostly the bigger urban cities I expect to see Dead Flowers get trotted out as they hit middle America. It's probably the last chance they/we have where most folks in the audience would want to hear a few 'countrified' RS tunes like DF, LIB, SVa, etc. at a stadium show. Come to think of it, the last time I saw the Stones in a stadium, they played DF i

Quotestanlove QuoteSonicDreamer In the 1970s, when Led Zeppelin were an active force they outsold the Stones both on record sales, concert attendance figures and revenue (particularly in the USA). Cheers, SonicD They outsold the Stones in concert attendance only because they toured more. The Stones were the bigger attraction when they did tour and drew the bigger crowds and higher gross desp

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotekleermaker QuoteDandelionPowderman Regarding CYHMK at the Fonda (From the interview with Denson): "A highlight came when Denson performed a bravura solo on "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," then went toe-to-toe with guitarist Ron Wood for a series of charged sax-and-guitar exchanges that earned a sustained ovation from the audience". Quotetaz22 Somewhat shocked that some folks think the setlist will be as few as 17 songs. I figure the setlist will be 20 songs minimum and probably 21 to start the tour. I think a lot of it is how many 'long'-ish songs are going to make the setlist. CYHMK, MR, SFTD, etc. It's about how long the overall show is. 21-22 songs is totally doable without as many longer ones (6:00-1

QuoteTheBlockbuster I have this feeling we will get an utterly disappointing setlist with Brown Sugar as opening song + 2 tracks from Sticky Fingers, and the rest will be identical to last year, maybe Midnight Rambler will be replaced with something else now when Mick Taylor is not with them. Nah, even on the Licks tour they would do mini-album sets of 4 songs. I think they'll do 5 a night

I don't think it will be released on dvd. It would be nice, historically, to hear YGM, IGTB, SM and Moonlight Mile, but as far as a full one-off show I don't see it happening. I don't think they've ever released a 'warmup gig' officially, have they? MJ, especially, likes to quality control the output, and with lots more 'slow' songs than normal in the set

Quote71Tele please enjoy Matt Clifford! Since he does different keyboards (remember the mellotron/synth parts on 2000LYFH in 1989) I thought that he would maybe do the B3 organ solo on IGTB and maybe add string synth parts for Moonlight Mile and Sway. I've read some attendees saying there was a keyboard solo for IGTB but haven't heard whether Clifford played on anything else.

QuoteNICOS Piano break at 2:20 onward. Amazing how non-plinky Chuck can sound when he uses a real piano, huh? The world would be a slightly better place had he or someone in the Stones' organization insisted in 1989 that the RS always toured with at least one real acoustic piano. Lives might have been saved. Now back to Mick Taylor thread talk...In lieu of the 2013 club version of LI

Quotekleermaker QuoteLuxuryStones Yes, there is no Taylor anymore. He left in '74. I think he regrets it more or less.. My guess, err rumour, is that this is the understatement of the year! I don't think so Kleer; he might have died, he was being unrecognized and thwarted in songwriting credits, keef was a mess and even the Stones future looked uncertain by some accounts, the next

As several of you have mentioned, many of us have listened to EOMS, Brussels Affair, SF, BB, LIB, GHS etc 1000's of times. We wouldn't have to choose those albums because we could play them in our heads (even though it is more fun to play them Out of Our Heads). As such, I wouldn't need many of my 'classic' records like RS, Zep, Floyd, Who, etc. and would probably cho
