There should be the .BUP and .IFO files it sounds to me that it is not extracting because part 1 is missing, this would explain why "you need to start extraction from a previous volume"

Whether it makes a difference or not, I have noticed that when the port has been changed my number of connects drops off, which is a bugger (use of technical jargon you notice) when keeping a share ratio going.

It should be VIDEO_TS, if you are burning the folder it should read it as this, or try just burning the files inside the folder having re-named them correctly as in Mr US's picture post.
