Quotetomk I'm in NYC next week. My wife's there for work, and I'm just bumming around. Every time I'm there my first stop is West 8th and 6th. Electric Ladyland is near there. Revolver Records is close by too - that's where I would shop for most of my Stones bootlegs before internet days.

Quotewhitem8 Don't know why folks are dogging on Bernard, he sounded great to me from those clips... Nothing against him really, just not my cup of tea ... The reason I like Keith, Ronnie, Dylan (even Tom Waits, Cohen etc.) is my vocal style preference. I don't like Bernard's vocals at all - its one of my main complaints for years - give me my Stones, with Keith, Ronnie, even Bob

Quotesweetcharmedlife Quotedrewmaster QuoteHairball Quotedrewmaster I've heard better singers at the local pub. On a Tuesday. In the kitchen. Drew If you're referring to Bernard, I would have to agree. He's best relegated to being a back-up vocalist. I am referring to Bernard, not Ronnie. Either way, not sure why I can't voice my opinion here without getting jumped on

Quote71Tele Quotestonescrow I know at least two individuals who's wives divorced them because they were spending too much time on the golf course. I was one of those individuals! No kidding! Why do I have a feeling that might not have been the only reason? Haha, funny 'cause I was thinking that & then saw your response.

QuoteEdith Grove QuoteKoen René's Track Talks are alphabetically I think Rene' deviates every once in a while. Not really - I think that when a new release comes out (i.e. extra songs on Some Girls Deluxe) that some of the blanks get filled in ... meaning they were already passed over alphabetically so they have to get added somewhere.

QuoteCome On Everything is turning to gould ... ... ... That was released before 1980, I believe ... wasn't it a b-side of Shattered? I agree about Slave - such a great tune, and don't forget how awesome the keyboards are in this song (not to mention the drums, bass, etc.).

Quotewhitem8 QuoteMingSubu A flatbed truck driving down 5th Ave, come on! The Beatles couldn't have pulled that off. I dig the Beatles. They are, to me, bubblegum though. The fact you say they are bubblegum shows that in fact you don't actually "dig" The Beatles and that you don't get them as well. They couldn't have pulled off the truck scene, mostly because the

QuoteSteen G QuoteLeonidP I'm 100% certain that the Beatles were in the Stones thoughts when they did their stunt. No, the idea came from New Orleans where jazz bands does this from time to time... No, the idea was to do something wacky like the Beatles did - clearly and documented, in several books on stones (including Bill's, I believe)

QuoteMunichhilton Great painting. Really? Personally I'd be embarrassed to own such a piece - but I guess as Naturalust said, to each his own. QuoteMunichhilton and I have to say Leonid, I dont think the Beatles were any concern of the Stones when they pulled of the truck concert. So they weren't trumping anybody I'm 100% certain that the Beatles were in the Stones thought

QuoteNaturalust Quoteshortfatfanny by Ronnie Wood wow that is GREAT artwork! Now Ronnie has finally found his callin' in this life.... sorry, i don't get it - ronnie, as a painter, is terrible, imo. way too 'busy' To answer the question - The Beatles rooftop was far 'cooler' than the Stones 5th ave. For the simple reason that theirs came first, and the

Interesting ... did Moonlight Mile begin around Satanic time period? That would make a great fit for this album (although it doesn't do too bad on Sticky either) Anyway, I'd lose the (see what happens) track, but the rest looks good!

GSN does sound poorly mixed - but I stand by the fact that all the songs are great. Seven Days, of course, but it also has Buried Alive, Come To Realize, Infekshun (as already pointed out), Worry No More, We All Get Old ... the main problem with it is that each song has about the same beat, so it sounds a little repetitive -- but each on their own is a great little number! 1234 does not suffer

QuoteElmo Lewis I've never heard 1234 but I really enjoy all the rest of Ronnie's solo stuff - it's not Exile, but has a lot of that lose feel to it. Hope he keeps working. Ah, I forgot about 1234 -- love that one too, every song is quality!

Quotefalo01 thats funny. for 50 years they are treating tapers like criminals and now they are asking for recordings.... Who is the 'they'? Not the Stones themselves ... I've read several quotes from the 70s and 80s where they said they did not have problems w/ bootlegs.

Quotewindmelody LeonidP, although you recently talked Dangerous Beauty down I have to say that you are right with your remarks about Ronnie's albums. Yeah sorry, some songs just never click for me - Dangerous Beauty is one of them - never liked it, never will. As for Ronnie, I don't think he's ever had a bad one. If I had to rank them, possibly I'd put Now Look near the b

Quotestonesrule LeonidP, you didn't comment on the song itself. Didn't think I was committing a capital crime by asking Stones fans of various generations and also people new to IORR their thoughts on "Evening Gown." QuoteWeLoveToPlayTheBlues QuoteLeonidP ah, can't stand this one - pretty much my least fav on the album, along w/ SOL and Look What The Cat Dragged In. Toss up between these 3 (don't like Sweet Neo Con either but its slightly better than these 3). No it's not. DB is above those three by a mile. Nah, very forgettable (as others pointed out).

I agree that I would have never listened to Ronnie's solo albums if he wasn't a Stone, but I am sure glad I did. I've had much enjoyment over his solo material, far more than w/ Mick & Keith's solo albums. I think he writes great rockin' tunes and I love his dylan-like vocal style.

QuoteWeLoveToPlayTheBlues Quotestonesrule I appreciate Mick's song "Evening Gown" more I hear it on YouTube. Wonder if newer IORR posters are aware of this song? Like it? Hate it? Why do you assume newer IORR posters are not aware of this song?... I was thinking the same thing ... and are there really any 'newbie' stones fans?
