As a teenaged Pie fan at the time (1973, we were a little dubious of Marriotts drift towards soul/R&B after Rockin At The Fillmore and Smokin'... but seen in 2024 this is gloriously over the top and captures the essence of the man...Whisperin' Bob Harris agrees.

Thanks for the heads up. Great score for JB fans. Surprised how little the Jack Bruce/Mick Taylor collaboration did for me..big fan of both. Robin Trower, Gary Moore and Clem Clempson all seemed to have better chemistry with Jack than Mick Taylor did.

AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams early band- Wishbone Ash guitarist Laurie Wisefield also in the group. Singer-guitarist Mick Stubbs late brother was in a band with a teenage Jimmy Page, hence the Zep reference. Cool track, very early 70's.

High quality complete show of Mick backed by Snowy White's band in 1995. The opening number "You Gotta Move" starts out great but overstays its welcome (in my opinion)...Snowy gets a few licks in.

FYI the Roy Young reference in the lyrics- (saw Ian with Roy Young in the 80's at the Bayou in DC..he rocked ) Per Wikipedia- In 1961, he began working at the Top Ten Club in Hamburg, where he played with Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers, who briefly included Ringo Starr, and recorded with Sheridan.[5] He then won a contract to play at the rival Star-Club, where he met the Beatles, a

Appearing on The Mike Douglas Show when Hendrix had become the toast of the town. Douglas asked Hendrix: “What’s it was like to be the best rock guitarist in the world?” Jimi then beautifully responded: “I don’t know, you’ll have to ask Rory Gallagher”. Mott the Hoople "Mott" circa 1973 Amazing album and one of the best Brit rock albums of the era - Drivin' Sister, All the Way From Memphis, I Wish I was Your Mother- Mott on the verge of breaking through to the top tier. Far superior sound to the spindly Bowie production on "All the Youg Dudes". Then Mick Ralphs leaves for Bad Company and the momentum is lost. Any fa

One of the weaker tracks from Reg King's 1971 LP, more like an extended jam, but plenty of Mick Taylor guitar, which is never a bad thing...Also playing slide on a BB Blunder track from around the same time.

Old enough (unfortunately) to have first seen them at DAR Constitution Hall in DC on the Sleepwalker tour (John Gosling-Andy Pyle lineup) - the show famously ended in an onstage meltdown between Dave and Mick Avory. Back then their reputation was similar to the Faces, fun shows, very loose and presumably intoxicated. Saw them countless times over they years and they played tighter and sharper ev

He was absolutely fanatical about playing Chicago style blues even before he started The Stones- total focus and dedication. But 60's style pop celebrity and the emergence of the Jagger-Richards-Oldham alliance sidelined him and he became sulky, resentful and ultimately a liability. A few inventive touches on record in the mid/late 60's but no longer a core member and definitely not a
