Quotelmatth8461 QuoteTomGreen It's now only two weeks to go. I wonder where all these standing tickets are going to go! Teenage bimbos who won't know or care whether it's Keith Richards or Cliff Richard up on stage. But there's no PPV in London is there ?

You're quite welcome for that Libé article. I was quite shocked when a friend passed it to me especially since it came soon after the heralded DW "return to form" (fans will be believe anything positive they read!)... Where did you read about Jimmy Page insisting on getting paid ? I seem to remember a story with Womack where he wasn't too happy how things turned out for him

Quotewindmelody The Stones allready were into business in 1994, but there they seem much more like a band of men playing together. They have overdone this "greatest rock'k'nroll band" talk since then. On these photos they seem so real. Well they've just spent 24 days rehearsing together 4 hours a day in a seedy suburb of Paris...it does look like a "band of men pla

Inspired by Billy Preston, whatever that means? Did he get any royalties for that "inspiration". Not a bad song, but it outstays its welcome IMHO, and there is this strange "punched in" vocal at some point where Mick goes "well I say" that I can look up if anyone's interested ;-)

The guitars do indeed sound a bit weak on the recording but that is completely fixed on the live version, Keith's guitar was roaring the other day, and the addition of a second "na na na na na na na", while not very inspired lyrically (to say the least) does give a better balance to the song, and it is Keith on backing vocals (I wasn't sure based on the recording).

Yep a fascinating read, but it's not "Under My Thumb", but rather "Under Their Thumb" ;-) And for those who had missed it here is a "comic strip" review/illustration of the book that I bumped into again yesterday by accident:

Dancing ? Well we were all lined up alongside the 20 meter or so railing (were told not to lean as it wasn't designed for that) and I'm not sure if it was the sheer emotion of being there but I for one could not help but groove rather visibly to the music, especially on "Worried about You" when Mick started jumping around like a man possessed, and I remember thinking to myself

Didn't UMG have an HQ version lossless version too of the radio edit ? Pretty sure someone started a topic about it here at some point. I'm now intrigued about the PMS single/album versions, will go digging...

Yeah I only recalled the powder incident several days after the concert, I think I first noticed it when Pierre de Beauport put some on Keith's guitar just before they started. I completely missed the fact that Mick's tech put too much and Mick clapped his hands to get rid of it, I must have blinked ;-)

Drove around the UK last summer (not in London though) for two weeks and it was fine for the most part, only real difficulty were turns into divided lanes (even if they merged just after), you tend to go for the second one...

Quoteroundnround maybe they will play Going Down with jeff beck... one of his signature songs... Could be, the fact that they rehearsed it twice means they're taking it seriously and Jeff would certainly have his place on stage with them, because of the great guitarist hunt or 1975 and of his work with Mick, on the solo albums, but also recently at the White House and on SNL.

Tune in : Not as exciting as it would have been 30 years ago in the YouTube days but still nothing to sneaze at! Yep, 31 years ago France Inter had this special on the concerts in NY that some listeners had been invited to and one commented that it was odd to see Keith with grey hair...and maybe a year later on a more obscure radio station they announced they'd be playing some bootleg

Sorry for branching off to French guys, william060190 says he wasn't the source for the Parisien article, not that it really matters but I guess those who think it was a PR stunt will still have their doubts...

Nice detective work, so two sources, bv's article and that "Le Parisien" article with the source possibly being william060190 who posted in this thread and who doesn't seem to be a Stones insider based on his previous posts. The article is unsigned and makes it sound like someone from "Le Parisien" was invited...it's a bit odd, one of the 32 possibly knows someo

Here is the chart I was refering to : Confusing that only 106 and 107 have an AA and how does it work, AA, BB, CC,...,ZZ, A ? Or does the double letter stop at some point ? One would hope so and if they did that because 106/107 are longer then it would make sense. What's also confusing is that Seetickets are offering seats numbered 223 in 107...
