Brighter Than Dark's Creation is the best album of 2008 so far. Anyone who loves Exile will love this classic bar band. Killer songs and a ghost on the highway brooding attitude.

That's How Strong My Love Is at Paris Olympia without a shadow of a doubt. It's almost like going back in time to 65. Jagger hasn't sung with so much conviction live since the 70s...maybe even the mid-60s. Tremendous soulful performance.

There's a really fabulous song by Bobbie Gentry called Apartment 21 with the lyrics printed below. Sheryl Crow fans will love it. In fact it would be a great song for Sheryl to cover. "Rain on my Sunday shoes Pick up the daily news Looks like tomorrows blues But its better than none Call on the telephone knowin' that he's not home I'll put on the Rollin' S

Was it a Chuck Berry's Berry Park by any chance? Reminds me of the old nursery rhyme 'Oh dear what can the matter be, three old ladies stuck in the lavatory, they were there from Monday to Saturday and nobody knew they were there.'

Miss You and Start Me Up to go please. It's a tired old cliche to start every show with Start Me Up. We all know it's gonna be there so why do it? They're just going through the motions on this one. And Miss You is probably still there for the posterity of being the last big hit they had but probably more because it is the perfect length for the band to roll out on the B-stage.

Any of you out there who don't know the Oddesey and Oracle album and love lush orchestral psychedelia such as Love's Forever Changes then you'll really dig this. Very, very English sounding but songs to die for. You can file it next to anything off The Beatles psych period, The Byrds' Notororious Byrd Brothers, Pet Sounds, The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society o

I went to Hammersmith Apollo last night. Really great sound which Neil commented on during his acoustic set. He dropped Journey Thru The Past, Sad Movies, Mellow My Mind, Cowgirl In The Sand, Mr Soul, Cinnamon Girl and Like A Hurricane from the first night but put in Out On The Weekend, Roll Another Number, Kansas, Old King, Heart Of Gold, After The Goldrush, The Loner. Great great version of

Here's another old favourite. Hope y'all like it. A LIVERPOOL LOVE STORY A young woman in Liverpool was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the Mersey. She went down to the docks and was about to leap into the freezing water when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering on the edge of the pier, crying. He took pity on her and sai

Let's not forget the Stones' PR machine will be in overdrive right now in advance of Shine A Light. We've already seen the Hell's Angels attempt on Jagger's life story appear so expect a lot more of these spins to get the boys back in the news.

I think the Stones should appoint an archivist who can at least get all the stuff they have in the vaults ready for release and sort out getting it all licensed. A contact, Matt Kent, had the job of doing exactly this for Pete Townshend/The Who and unearthed some amazing stuff - full concert footage and unreleased outtakes - that is now waiting to come out. The Stones have to realise that as time

This bloke with Tourette's Syndrome walks into the most exclusive restaurant in town. 'Where's the pissing, motherfucking manager, you cocksucking arsewipe?' he inquires of one of the waiters. The waiter is taken-aback and replies, 'Excuse me sir but could You please refrain from using that sort of language in here. I will get the Manager as soon as I can'.
