Quotecrawdaddy QuoteDandelionPowderman We should have been down under right now, Tony and Gregor! That would be great Bard. I wish I was down under, but hoping for South America Feb/March and hoping that will work out. As for the Daily Mail story. We haven't heard anything yet from our IORR Oz pals who make the effort to get to rehearsals. That will be more accurate I reckon&

QuoteDandelionPowderman We should have been down under right now, Tony and Gregor! Most definitely Bard & Tony Even at Norwegian Beer prices I'm a bit short of leave though... The furthest I've travelled to see them was Massachussets on the Licks Tour. They're supposedly doing South America next year. 21 gigs and counting for me, hopefully Stockholm wasn'

Quotewickerman I keep hearing rumours about gig at Warsaw's National Stadium sometime next summer... Mind you, we almost got a show this year but lost to Tel Aviv (Jun 4 date was also rumoured for Warsaw). Let's see what happens! I hope not. If they do a concert in Warsaw I hope it's anywhere but there. Even the Sala Kongresowa! I know Warsaw well and by all accounts the sound

Quotecrawdaddy Will be a shame if too many people and media are on the scene, courtesy of the TV news. Oslo was great and the two days I was there ,while rehearsing at Telenor Arena, there were no more than 20-30 fans and didn't see any media. >< Very true. Channel 7 will not be in the Stones' good books now. Hats off to macnee2 for not revealing said location on her

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteMacnee2 If they're playing now, let me know and I'll put my beer down and go for a cruise. Go over there, and stay there! You won't regret it Agreed. If the rehearsals are half as much fun as Oslo, it will be well worth it

Also Scottish : The Bay City Rollers (Edinburgh) KT Tunstall (St Andrews) Wet Wet Wet (Clydebank, near Glasgow) The Average White Band (Dundee) Annie Lennox (Aberdeen) Deacon Blue (Dundee) Fish (Singer of Marrillion - Edinburgh) Glasvegas (Glasgow, oddly enough...) Gerry Rafferty (Paisley) loads more that I can't think of at present...

Sounds like I missed myself there, Crawdaddy & DP :-( I didn't arrive in Oslo until the early hours of Saturday so all I caught was the 2nd half of the full concert runout at the Telenor... However, I made up for it with a top spot at the show itself and I got my ticket for Paris from another fan who queued and later stood right next to me at that show... Great times, perhaps my bes

Nice one Heart for Stones! We actually met at both Oslo and Stockholm - I'm the Scottish guy who spoke with you and your Swedish friend outside the Tele2 on the day before the show. I thought they performed Angie very very well in Stockholm (let's ignore Mick's small mistake with the lyrics at the start...) and to my untrained ear your video confirms it Best, Gregor

Crawdaddy, I was only at NSH for 2 years and never directly employed by them. However, as a long term temp I certainly knew a lot of people there and ate in the canteen every day. I spent most of my time in Logistics Finance. BT still own NSH, but thanks to the brutal cuts in the last 2 decades they can no longer fill it with their own staff. 3 quarters of it is rented out and occupied b

Are they well known in Norway DP ? 1987, wow!!! You must have been a mere puppy back then. I saw my 1st ever gig that same year - U2 at Cardiff Arms Park on the Joshua Tree tour, the peak of their popularity. Status Quo have existed in one form or another since the 60s.

And all the best from me too Rick! I saw you play when you came to Swindon in 1990 and 6 months later supporting Rod Stewart at Wembley. Fun band who make fun of themselves and don't take themselves too seriously.

Definitely do. As a 9 year old in 1976 listening to my parents' sterio downstairs playing the compilation 'Rolled Gold' loudly whilst having friends round and I was upstairs in bed, being subjected to it, unable to sleep. Heard the Beatles from about the age of 6, liked them and still do but somehow preferred the Stones' harder edgier sound. They only ever seemed to play

My favourite tour DP! Sheffield 9/7/95 Wembley 16/7/95 Brilliant times. Loved the stage and 'Not Fade Away' Intro. And I think Satisfaction was greatly freshened up by being played 5/6 songs in from the start too. Another personal favourite was It's All Over Now.

...Or maybe they'll come back to my home town of Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland. The last time they were there, THIS happened !!!! I met the fan interviewed for this article queuing up for Hyde Park 1. This show was so OTT wild that even Mick J still remembers it. Bill certainly does><

I hope there is a gig in London next year Crawdaddy ! If so I'm sure some of the Oslo crowd will be there too. Half the ones I met there had been to at least 1 Hyde Park show or the O2. I hope it isn't Hyde Park again, but I'll still go even if it is...

Entry in Massimo Bonanno's Rolling Stones Chronicle: 1964, May 19 "Riots in Hamilton, Scotland when police try to prevent 4,000 fans, many with forged tickets, from gatecrashing a Stones gig at the Chantinghall Hotel". I actually met Mick Prater, the fan featured in this article and his wife in the queue for HP1 last year - they were fun. His Uncle owns and runs t

Quotecrawdaddy I was still at school then and almost saw them at Kingston Granada 1964 but homework came first and mum said no. They also played at Cellar Club in Kingston 1963 .It was just a house in Ashdown Road with a big cellar. Knocked down years ago. Station hotel is now a posh Gastro pub/restaurant I believe. Mick should show up one day and make them an offer they can't refuse.

Quotecrawdaddy Mr savage likes to wind people up, and knew that from his very first posts. You're a Londoner Crawdaddy, or at least you sound like one the times I've met you If they have a home, then it's the Crawdaddy Hotel, on their home turf where it all began and if it hadn't we would never have had this great band to enjoy regardless of where some people may pe

Quotemichaelsavage Nah, they consider NYC their home now. I assure you. With respect, nonsense. Charlie has never lived outside the UK. Ronnie lives in the UK and all living former members are from and live in the UK. All current and former members were born in the UK. They are a British band. Only Keith is a permanent resident of the US and he's from Dartford like Mick is.

Quotemichaelsavage They will end it in their home in New York City - MS Garden - multiple shows! Since when were Dartford, Hillingdon, Wembley and Penge suburbs (neighbourhoods) of New York ? It would make sense for them to finish where it began, in their home, not merely a popular past venue.

I wasn't at that 2006 show but it was broadcast on BBC Radio 1 2 days later with 2 songs ommitted. I have a recording of it. It took place only a few months after Keith's fall and the consensus at the time was that Blondie Chaplin played a lot more than usual, sometimes off stage. It seems likley to be their last ever show on Scottish Soil which is a pity. Proud that they played
