Oh my Ray-- so wrong on so many counts. I mean I love the Kinks but even on their best albums 50 percent of those albums were nothing but filler. My Favorites were Kink- Size, Arthur, Muswell Hillbillies ( which I always thought was their Beggars Banquet ) those were probably the most realized of their releases ( to me anyway )

I am just amazed at how much stuff Hendrix actually put down on tape ! He must have turned on his tape recorder the minute he woke up and let it record all day ! Or at least when he walked into the studio the tapes must have been tolling-- how do you amass enough material to be released 50 years after you are gone ? Wow- impressive ! And most of it is good !

I think Charlies drumming on "Exile" is perfect ! Also his drumming on Pete Townsend / Ronnie Lane's "Rough Mix" is awesome ! And for Charlie purists, "One Charlie to Another" the drumming is excellent

Saw the American Masters LENNONYC and thoght they did a really good with it-- believe or not, even Yoko came off as being pretty sane. They did a nice job, PBS. As far as the "NEW" Lennon release "Gimme Some Truth" goes, why why why why did they let Sean Lennon remix the thing ? I mean, if they felt they had to, how about someone with some experience and talent do it ? Did

GHS is what it is-- warts and all. You take it for what it is. Cant re-write history. A classic album. Most bands would live their left nut to produce an album as good as this.

I like Lanois a lot, but he would never fit with the Stones. Jack White maybe, but at this point, they should just do it themselves. I don't know if any outside guy would be able to do anything -- Don Was has been with them now for so long, I don't see it changing
