Camden used to be good years ago, before the fire, but nowadays all you get are con-artists flogging CDRs/DVD-Rs etc that they have downloaded from the same places we have. There are some stalls selling records, but they are way overpriced. I think Camden is just for tourists nowadays. Spitalfields is much the same I'm afraid. There are a couple of second-hand record shops still in Soho - Wa

VideoJames posted this a few weeks ago: Re: Brian Jones and songwriting Posted by: VideoJames () Date: October 30, 2015 05:06 Over the years I have spoken with people very close to Brian and he did write a few songs, whether they were fully completed has always been in debate. Many, many years ago I acquired some master tapes of The Rolling Stones from the years 1966 till 1970.

From an article in this month's Record Collector magazine: 6" reel-to-reel tape found with some previously unknown demos recorded at IBC Studios during early 1960s. Tracklist: Diddly Daddy; Roadrunner; Bright Lights, Big City; I Want To Be Loved; Baby, What's Wrong; As Tears Go By (1); Congratulations; No-One Loves You More Than Me; As Tears Go By (2). The person who owns the ta

Mine arrived yesterday. The actual pressing/sound quality is excellent - original mono mixes of all three tracks. The label is the old London orange swirl used for promo records. Mine is number 5259 of 20,000. Is 20,000 for a 12" single really a limited edition these days? However, bearing in mind this is factory sealed, there are a set of fingerprints on the playing surface of both sides

According to this website this is a North America release only, and will be the usual version we all know. This is because Granada TV hold the rights for UK and Europe, but not for N. America, so Eagle Rock are releasing it there. Makes some sort of sense I suppose, but a disappointment if correct...

Re the UK mono Satanic, you have to check the matrix numbers to see whether it is the original mono or the foldown mix. Basically if there is a "T2" in the matrix number, you have the foldown mix, no "T2" and you have the original mono. In the original mono mix, the percussion in "Sing All This Together" seems to be higher in the mix, and the bell tolling before &quo

Yes, it looks like the first sale didn't go through, the seller then re-listed it and added the following comment: "This is not a verified sleeve, the gloss of the paper around on the edges are possibly questionable and are hard to compare without seeing it in hand." Then he pulled the sale...Sounds very dodgy all round, but we get a good idea what some (wealthy) people are willin

Didn't Keith or Bill say they used to play 'Popeye' during GOOMC at live concerts in the 60s? The screaming from the audience was so loud they could have played anything...I assumed it was an 'ironic' reference to this...

So according to the track listing, on the DVD the band intros come after IORR. On the CD they come before IORR. Which can only mean the DVD is from the 11th and the CD is the one we've already got from the 13th. So they can't even be arsed to give us a CD of the DVD soundtrack, just bung in something we've already got and paid for!

Hyde Park ltd Jap edition with bonus tracks still available here: I've bought CDs etc from here a few times and never had any problems with delivery to the UK. You may have to pay import duty as well, depends where you are... Same website also has the Hampton and LA75 box sets available for pre-order, but apart from a t-shirt, I don't think these have any extras that are not on th

No-one has this? The reason I'm asking is that I have it on CDR, but it does not play properly any more. As far as I know, the version of Gimme Shelter on this is not available anywhere else?

Any sealed original Decca album would indeed be a rarity (or a fake) as, as far as I can remember, no albums were sealed or shrinkwrapped in the UK until around the mid-1970s. Apart from albums imported from the US, the first album I can remember buying that was sealed was Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here in 1975 (in black plastic). Didn't the Island label experiment with shrinkwraps in
