Quotebye bye johnny Bob Lefsetz's take: Easy Sleazy Somewhere Keith Richards is smiling, if not outright laughing. Without him, Mick Jagger appears completely out of touch with no soul. Mick may be the front man, but who is behind him turns out to be the essence of his success. This is not the first time Mick has tried to go solo. And he always fails, even with the biggest push

QuoteDoxa Wow! Listened to it about ten times alraedy - and what can I say: literally It's Only Rock'n'Roll But I Like It! Shouldn't write anything yet, but here we go... some first impressions while listening it in a row again and again... That's the beauty of times that people release stuff just like that - out of blue, without any notice. Seemingly Mick seems to

Surprising enjoyable and catchy song, with a definite punk vibe. Definitely a throwaway - I don't think it's intended to be anything else - but fun to listen to & reminds the world that Mick is alive and kicking!

QuoteTaylor1 Blinded by Rainbows ,Sweet hearts Tgether, and Out of Tears are great songs.Only would replace Suck on the Juggler and Baby Break it Down with Jump on Top of Me and a complete Zipmouth Angel Suck on the Juggler may be the worst Stones songever.Baby Break it Down sucks too Bits of Suck on the Jugular sound horribly out of tune to me, making the track unlistenable.

Until a couple of weeks ago this would have been Scarlet or Living In a Ghost Town. Now it's Desperate Man, hands down an instant classic... the music, Mick's wonderful singing, and lyrics that reflect a particularly difficult time for all of us. A song to treasure. Thanks boys!

There are too many treasures here to absorb all at once. My top tracks review will have to wait a few more days but I am loving it. It's switched up to 11. Happy days...

I rented it from iTunes and watched it - I'm sure they shaved off some content from when I saw it at the cinema... Always nice to see Ronnie stuff but the film was a bit lightweight.

Quoteryanpow QuoteStoneage I can't see why 2 minutes more makes it better? For me, it's one of those songs that you want to just keep going, so an extended version makes total sense. You got it!

Is anyone else out there crazy about the extended version of She Was Hot? I thought the Shine A Light live version was a highlight of the film (Whoooo!) but this track is insanely good... turn it up to 11 !!

Interesting and thoughtful post as always, Doxa. SMU was the song that really introduced me to the Stones - I love its lazy magnificence. A blast of fresh air... even as it was recycled. Not sure I totally agree about it a poor man's imitation of their classic hits since many of those (Satisfaction, JJF, Paint It Black etc) were not in open G. I more think of open G songs being their 7

PS: Strange how the video came about - I saw on a fan board that the Stones wanted volunteers to film snippets about why they re so great etc so I emailed in and went along for my 2 minutes of filming somewhere in Soho (London), I think it was. This was just before the 2012 comeback shows and was going to be part of the pre-show fan video segments/ build-up at the concerts. Anyway, my snippet

This was my first ever Stones show and to say I was massively excited is an understatement.I even bailed my own graduation night to go along. Adding to the great vibe was that I won my tickets by phoning in on some TV show (does anyone remember 01 for London). Slept in the boot of the car too. Great days!
