Appaloosa is possibly my fave non-Stones track, beautifully melancholic.

I remember that a huge cheer went up mid-way thru the concert - it was a quiet number like Angie - and the band looked surprised. England had just scored in the World Cup, it transpired.

QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteStoneage Jazz musicians, who truly loves music, do not play exactly the same songs on every tour. And if they do they improvise on the songs or do different arrangement on them from tour to tour. If you play Satisfaction or JJ Flash for 1100 times, in more or less the same manner, - is that really for the love of music? i think we're confusing love of music with l

I was always find docs that play fake Stones music a bit irritating TBH, which is not to say that this might be a good doc but I for one can't watch it.

As a 16 y/o when I first discovered the Stones - mostly thru a ton of repeat viewings of this concert movie - they really did seem like gods and I never ever thought I'd get to see them live in real life. Thankfully, I was 100% wrong and the evident joy they display at every show more than makes up for the fact that they are human (I think) like all of us. Keep rolling, boys...

For me in my adolescence - before discovering the Stones, there was Olivia Newton-John or Olivia Neutron-Bomb, as we used to call her. A delight. I'm genuinely sad. RIP ONJ

I’d say ever since after A Bigger Bang, Ronnie’s been holding up his side of their guitars pretty well, and covering up often for our hero Keith’s reduced ability. Of course he’s had off days but I generally give him high marks for effort and pushing up the joy of each show (which is not to say the others don’t of course!). What is obvious is the genuine pleasure they (and we) share when they

Mick's 79 and getting over Covid. I had it as a 54 y/o 3 months ago and it took me weeks before my energy levels recovered so let's cut him some slack. Mick is awesome and it's great to see the band so clearly relishing every moment on stage. They're Happy.

QuoteIrix QuoteMore Hot Rocks The Stones want to play live until they drop. But after that they might continue virtually. Yes, I meant that they'd sign up to provide the virtual show after the real live touring stops. On the strength of seeing them in Brussels & London a couple of weeks back, they still have some juice in the tanks, I'm happy to say

I'd be very surprised in the next few years if they don't jump all over the ABBA idea of a 'virtual concert experience'

There seem to be a lot of (younger) people who wear Stones gear without seemingly even being aware who the band are - hard though it is to believe. (And sacrilege too ;-) Do you think there'll ever come a time when they (or their descendants) make more cash from monetising the famous lapping tongue on clothes and other merchandise than from music and streaming sales?

Disagree with Mr Lydon 100% on Mick Jagger of course but I do find him refreshing, usually amusing and very well informed.

Quotefranzk Soul Survivor / It Must Be Hell Already Over Me / Always Suffering Send It To Me / Neighbours Dead Flowers / The Biggest Mistake (maybe a little bit) Summer Romance and Where The Boys Go have basically the same beat (not exactly Stones but) Brand New Set Of Rules / Streets Of Love Yup, these 2 pairs definitely: Soul Survivor / It Must Be Hell Already Over Me / Always Suffer
