Wishing Charlie a full recovery however long it takes and whether or not he ever takes the stage again. It looks like big business has trumped principles with the band touring without Charlie. You're gonna really need the rehearsals this time round, guys.

Quoterollmops I celebrated my birthday yesterday with my friend Marie; she is a big fan, she has been to Stones concerts many times always in the pit, always good seats. But this time she is not going. Money, covid19, lack of enthousiasm, I am not sure but I was shocked when she said abrutly " I am not going". I hope to go, to Pittsburg. But I wonder how many fans will decide like Mar

I thought they looked pretty grown up on the Arthur Haynes Show when I was six. Arthur, of course, looked much older.

I'll go by the Scottish Government advice and plan to continue to wear a mask on public transport, in supermarkets, etc. I would not feel comfortable attending a gig, large or small, while the Delta variant is still rife and wouldn't go to see the Stones if they played my home town tonight. I don't have faith in Boris Johnson's advice, I'm afraid. I have found him to

I for one wouldn't travel to see any band - even the Stones - just now or attend any sort of stadium event. Although vaccinated, my understanding is that I could still pass the virus on, not only risking others' health, but increasing the risk of other variants emerging. I think we should learn to walk before we run. We all hope this thing is nearly over - or at least manageable - bu

Quotewindmelody QuoteTheGreek I am still going to wear a mask any time I leave my home and I still will be vigilant and guarded against this hideous virus , even though I am fully vaccinated with the Pfizer . I just can't drop my guard as that would void all of the protections that I have . Yes I am paranoid about COVID-19 and I am really scratching my head from yesterday's CDC directi

QuoteMariuana Well Wild Horses the Stones put on Youtube was from the Knebworth gig and it was pretty cool. It leads me to think they were satisfied with that performance enough to put it online. I enjoyed the rest I saw as well. It obviously was pretty cold that night but the band was fire. It wasn't cold at all. A very warm night after a blazing hot day. There had been warnings on the

Loved it! Had just turned 19 and was holding tickets for my first Stones show having been Stones daft all through my teens. You better believe I enjoyed it and still think it holds up well today.

QuoteMisterDDDD Quoteliddas Why so little love for the Stones' set? Absolutely loved it!! C Pretty standard for even an off topic thread these days. Band is quiet, so gotta find something to complain about it seems. A few that were there, some liked, some didn't like it... fair enough. Then there are those that weren't there but use "a lot of people are saying"

It was towards the end of the set, probably during Freebird. Ronnie pushed the guitarists down the catwalk (which I didn't realise was a tongue until the stage was lit for the Stones.

Not OT - they were of course on the same bill as the Stones at Knebworth 1976. I remember enjoying their set (which felt like almost a full day before the Stones came on).

Midnight drinkers flock to Britain’s beloved pubs as lockdown eases (CNBC 12 April 2021) * The U.K. has eased its lockdown further with the reopening of non-essential shops and pub beer gardens on Monday. * A number of pubs with 24-hour licenses opened as soon as

Quotebakersfield The Astoria 2003 (I was lucky enough to be there. HTW came as a surprise - I don't think it was set listed but it kicked ass. i was part of an ecstatic crowd singalong down the front) I was down the front too. I remember Keith, just a few feet in front of me, banging out the open chord on the intro and then producing a pick from his mouth before completing the intro.

I know a few people who have a tender arm after the Pfizer vaccine. Mine was OK, but I had headaches, chills, fatigue, etc., for a couple of days after my second vaccination. Fine now.

The opening number at my first show in 1976. Keith hammering out the chord, Charlie on the back-beat, Jagger hiding behind a twirling parasol. Yeah, that was my best Honky Tonk Women live.

It was played in Paris, but not sure that was the show which was filmed - need to dust off some of my old bootlegs. Wasn't trying to slag off the Paris show - I'd love to see a decent release of this - but the Knebworth setlist was, imho, pretty special. Personally, I'd choose Around and Around over Cherry Oh Baby in a heartbeat.

The Paris show is good - standard 1976 setlist. The Knebworth setlist was - and, I would argue, still is - unique and I'd love to have a clean release of this show, warts and all. Sloppy and definitely not the Vegas era, this was to be the Stones last European performance for six years. And, yes, I'm biased because I was at that show at the end of an extremely long and tiring d

Rundgren was very good, but would have been better, imo, at night with lights. It was a very bright day with no lights at all by day. Skynyrd played as the sun was slightly lower in the sky. Maybe not the best audience for Todd Rundgren - they seemed to prefer out and out rock to his more progressive style (or maybe that was just me). I enjoyed him enough to go see him headline in Glasgow a c

QuoteNate I’m sick of hearing people say things will never return to how they were before covid came along.Covid is more than likely here to stay but the magic of science gives us the tools to keep it at bay and it will not be a problem like it is now. When vaccines are available for everyone then people will return to sports events, concerts etc and the pandemic will be history. Doom and gloom

I too believe I may have seen my last Stones show, but would love to be wrong. All we can do is whatever we can to stay safe and, in doing so, keep others safe. We don't know what's around the corner in terms of variants, etc., and are very much in the scientists' hands (and, I'm afraid, the politicians) and vaccination programmes are underway, so there is positive movement
