QuoteGazza according to Nico Zentgraf's site : Line-up ‘She Smiled Sweetly’: MJ (voc, tamb)/KR (gtr, bass, p, org, bvoc)/CW (dr) Cant imagine there are any released Stones songs with no guitars at all. If you listen to it there are no guitars apart from the bass. It has to be the Stones without apart from the interludes in Satanic?

QuoteStonesTod QuoteBrue Springsteen. I don't know how many times I've avoided seeing him. I can't stand sing a longs. Not to say I don't like a few of his songs, but overall he's a pain in the ass to listen to and put up. as stones fans, i'm not even sure we're supposed to like bruce. aside from my mate, gazza, i've never met another stones fan in all

I looked at the Lyndsey Buckingham thread and then played the original She Smiled Sweetly and realised that this must be the only Stones song not to feature a guitar (apart from the bass). Are there any others apart from remixes not to feature 5 or 6 strings?

What Keith doesn't realise is that he is now the "establishment" that he has so called been railing against for the last 50 or so years. I mean for f888s sake even Johnny Rotten is part of the "establishment" with his butter commercials!! I personally think that Charlie should receive a knighthood as his interests and influence are far broader than that of his band ma

QuoteTumblin_Dice_07 QuoteNickB You may want to try some boutique pickups such as Bareknuckle pickups. I have a set of Slowhands in my Strat and they are good. For a cheaper alternative try Iron Gear pickups. Slowhand pickups huh? Obviously supposed to sound like Clapton, but what phase of Clapton's career? He used mainly two Strats from the late 50's from '69 through the ea

Good luck as choosing pickups is minefield and there is a lot of BS talked about pickups and tone. My recommendation is have a chat with Mathjis who is the resident expert 'round these parts.

QuoteRev. Robert W. Bap Kennedy's Domestic Blues from 1996 is still one of the best--and certainly most underrecognized records I can think of. Bluesy, rollicking tunes realized by some of Nashville's best pickers. Actually sort of reminiscent of Beggar's Banquet/Let It Bleed acoustic Stones. Not a weak track on the album. Been playing Go-Go Boots in my car since I got it on Valentines day. I bought Go-Go boots and a book of love poetry for my wife. I like the album. It's more mellow and not so immediate. They are probably in my top 5 of all time favourite bands. Everybody needs some love, so give yours and go buy this album. Laters Truckers fans.
