Come on somebody must have a suggestion for some obscure Stones numbers to be played on national radio?

Hi fellow Stones fans. It's been a long time since I posted here. A good friend of mine is a DJ on BBC6 music and he has asked for good obscure Stones songs (both live and studio) and a bit of history behind them. Please could you post your thoughts here. I'm sure he'll give us some good publicity on his show. Thanks for your help.

I loved the show. Awesome. They were on fire that night. Jagger constantly baiting Ronnie was hilarious. Bills playing though was just out of this world.

Not sure who I would like England to face in the semi's. Both Ireland and Wales look tough to beat.

Thanks Vox. I see it used quite often in reference to Strats and Teles built from bits lying around. Nick

Kinda Stones related as they play guitars...... Probably one for the Brits on the boards but I have some guitars for sale listed on ebay. I'll do a deal if you take the whole lot off my hands. If you are interested please contact me via IORR rather than ebay. Thanks. Nick

Each are valid in their own little way. The guitar solo in Something is just the most sublime piece of guitar playing ever. Period. IMHO.

Actually what the odious little tick of a man doesn't understand and he's quite clearly not a guitar player is that with Open G and other tunings is that the tuning itself opens up all kinds of possibilities and chord voicings that you don't get with standard tuning.

An atonal racket if ever I heard one. Seriously how did they get so far? Apart from Sex On Fire which is their only good number I can't fathom how they got far.

I switched about 2 years ago and bought a Mac Mini as I already had a decent screen. Go for it. Garageband if you're into recording your own stuff is a great little program.

Frankly just some chart friendly overproduced claptrap with a reasonable hook trying to hard to be hip and cool. I'd be more impressed if Mick did something with Drive-By Truckers, a band who keep it real and would be a real poke in the eye for Keef.

I had a Tiny Terror and then I saw the light and bought a Fender Deluxe Reverb. The Tiny Terror is a good amp. Mine was a Korean made amp and it never caused me any problems, I gigged with it and it had a great sound but if you're into tone get a Fender amp.....Save a little and get a Fender amp. The new Hot Rods have been well received...again I've had a Deville 2x12 but the Deluxe has

QuoteBluzDude Did somebody mention Rick Ruben? Now there's a guy who is WAY overrated IMHO. What and the Johnny Cash albums done with Rubin are crap because Rubin's in the chair? Cash couldn't have made those albums without Rick Rubin he certainly couldn't have made them with Don Was.

Quotetexas fan QuoteKRiffhard Quotetexas fan QuoteNickB His production on Lucinda Williams' album Blessed is fantastic. It sounds warm and inviting and the guitars are recorded and mixed wonderfully. This is absolutely true. Maybe a bad choice for the Stones, but he's not a bad producer. Stones sounds imo shouldn't be warm and inviting Well, I get that -- I don't know i

I guess when I was 15 or 16 I used to try and look like Keith circa '82 so much so that I was walking down the street and this kid says to other kid, pointing at me "that guy looks like he's on heroin"....and that's without even taking drugs, smoking or drinking. I was super fit at the time trying to be Seb Coe or Steve Cram.
